.And this is why we moved to Colorado!
all of us with a ski pass in hand.
I don't know if I have ever seen Jeff so happy.
yi, yi, yi - as a New Mexican native
I sure hope I can catch on to this skiing every Saturday thing!

Any tips?

tips?.....don't take 4 little kids all by yourself to teach them how to ski. (David learned the hard way :))

  2. That is wicked awesome. Skiing is absolutely my #1 favourite family activity. Bar none.

  3. We also have season passes and ski every Saturday through the winter. It is the best family activity. Tips--definitely sign the kids up for a few lessons. They will be skiing circles around you in no time.

  4. I have never been skiing so I'm clueless, but how fun for your family!

  5. Make sure YOU take lessons and battery socks and handwarmers in your gloves are a lifesaver! Have fun!

  6. Avoid trees and face-planting. :)

  7. Buy a really cute apres ski outfit and hang out in the clubhouse. Think "mommy time".

  9. Wow! What a great family activity!

When we lived in Denver, my dad was a big skier and was always trying to convince me to go, but I was afraid. I finally went with him and loved it. Then we moved to Pittsburgh. I went skiing there with some friends and hated it. The skiing in Colorado is way better and way less scary because the slopes are so wide!

  10. I would enroll them in ski school. And, if you are new to skiing, do it too! Our family does snowboarding. And, being the only girl I wasn't about to be left home every weekend! So, I had to man up and learn! Now, with that said, my 7 yr is better than I am now...but I still go.

    Lessons
Lots of snacks and lunch in the car as the lodge is too expensive each week
    Helmets!!

Good luck, have fun! These are great memories indeed!

  13. Ski school. Drop the kids off and pick them up 2 hours later, after you've had a little black diamond time with your hubby. Also, snow boarding is actually easier for some kids - you don't have to worry about crossing your tips. I've found skiing to be a great family activity. Even if you don't say a word to each other on the slopes, the lift is good talk time.

By the way, I'm so jealous that you're in Colorado. I miss New Mexico (though Australia is fun too.)

  16. What?

"Moguls" aren't Donald Trump and Warren Buffet?

"Black diamonds" aren't valuable stones on a ring or bracelet?

"Lifts" aren't alchoholic pick me uppers or things that short men put in their shoes?

Dang! I don't think I like this "skiing thing".

"Ski PASS" That's a phrase that I can relate to!

  19. You know, I grew up in Denver and have never once been skiing. . . . I fear I may be an imposter.

  21. Skiing is super fun and a great couples and family activity. You will love it. Take lessons at first. Lots of adults do and it is the right way to start. Husbands are NOT good teachers!!

Miss you and hope all is well. Your house looks darling!

  22. "Go that way, really fast. If something gets in your way, turn."

That is my skiiing advice, & if you can quote the movie I will send you homemade mint brownies!!!

  23. Just reread my post. I was responding to Crystal - the movie, I believe is "Better Off Dead". THAT is certainly not my tip or suggestion about skiing!

If mint brownies are involved, please send them to Pink and the Pinkettes!

My idea of a balanced meal is to always eat 2 of something - - so believe me, I do not need to eat 2 mint brownies!

  25. I haven't been skiing since college. This winter I am going to take a couple of lessons. I would say lessons for the little girls. It will be well worth the money. I tell you Kristi, you spread this infectious thirst for life and make me want to soak it all in. Thank you!

  27. Great party today....you are too cute!!! So to really enjoy skiing in Colorado....and not be stuck in traffic all night, Scott and I would leave at 6 or 6:30ish and be there when the slopes open, then leave somewhere between 1:00 and 3:00....especially when we had passes cuz we didn't feel like we had to stay the whole day. Hope you LOVE it!!!
