We gots crutches!

I am pretty sure buying these will jinx me into actually needing them, but I am taking the risk.
Today at goodwill I purchased
  • original framed watercolor of two skiers $1.00
  • Lands End purple suede boots for Sally Jane $1.00
  • the movie Beauty and the Beast (my kids have never seen it and I have been looking for it forever in the stores but can never find it-total score!) $1.00
  • a total Archie Bunker lime green recliner in Excellent condition for $15.00 (Jeff if you are reading this at work, can you stop by Goodwill and pick up that big green recliner and bring it home - they close at 7:00, thanks sweetie)
  • kids size crutches $5.00
My friend Kimberly recently told me that her friend gave her kids crutches for Christmas as a toy and it was their favorite thing ever. So I have been on the lookout for crutches. I have need seen the kids ones that adjust to 4 foot before, so I was excited when I found these today. I am sure it will be the big hit for all the kids to play with after school. I just hope we don't actually ever need them.

Have you ever bought your kids something before
that was not a toy but turned out to be their favorite thing to play with?

Big day for me

So today was a big day for me and why don't I learn that when I try hard to take care of myself I always feel better. After coming home from my early date with the gym, I showered, put on make-up, did my hair (my fake perm of hot rollers for 45 min), got dressed and wore a belt! I never ever wear a belt, it goes against my love for elastic waist pants. I did this all before the girls woke up, they still screamed and wanted to be held forever but it was the first day Caroline has not been late for school this year.
Yesterday was Sally Jane's first day as a Sunbeam. She has been so sick all month that this was her first day back at Church since Christmas Sunday - wow. She did great, sat right with the class and was thrilled to come home with a baby Jesus craft that she made.
In honor of the Super bowl I sure found one (a Super Bowl) at Goodwill today, only $5.99. Large glass punch bowls are so hard to find and this one with the scallop top was pretty awesome. I am debating of who to give it to. My friend has had me on the look out for one forever, but just this morning the new lady I visit teach called to ask if I could bring my punch bowl to her son's baptism. So I think how neat would it be to give it to her to keep and pass down to her son. I realize not everyone is as sentimental as I. I am torn - My other friend is a southern gal and throws great parties and would totally use it, but the lady I visit teach would never buy something like for herself and I think it would mean a lot to her.

So, what should I do?
a) give it to my southern friend who has wanted a punch bowl forever and has asked me to look for one
b) give it to the sweet lady I visit teach who will have no family at her baptism and would really appreciate it too
