Bug Hunt!

Today we woke up to the most beautiful snow. We made a fire in our beautiful huge, cabin we are staying in at the base of Deer Valley (it is 9000 sq feet) and ate breakfast while watching the snow fall.

We went to church and then came home ate lunch and started the Sunday afternoon vegging.

Ryan and Rachel started the incredible Mexican feast. Tostada compuestas, (with yummy blue corn shells) chilie renos, spanish rice. It is my favorite meal. My mom made the sauce ahead of time, she makes it better than anyone i know. It was a taste of heaven!

The snow stopped and the sun came out. JUst in time for us to do "mimi's bug hunt" My mom had the best idea to do a bug hunt with the kids. It was like an easter egg hunt. The adults hid plastic bugs and my mom gave everyone their own bug catcher. The kids loved it!

We finished the night watching a DVD that my brother Spencer made. It was incredible. Spencer you will never know how that touched each of us. The best part was my dad skiing on his 60th birthday to the music of "A River Runs through it" Tears were flowing down all of us kids faces. It was beautiful!

Tomorrow we will say goodbye to everyone.

How in the world did your mom come up with the idea of a bug hunt? That's a cute idea (though the bugs are creepy) and the bug catchers are darling.

I can't wait to hear about your trip in person.

So cute!! It would make a good birthday party game...oh wait Miriam is born in Feb when it's cold and windy. I will file that idea away for some special event!

That sounds wonderful! What a special time to be with everyone. And as far as I'm concerned, if you're in the mountains snow is what you want! :) What a great mental picture...BTW can you extend your rental of the ski mansion? I fly into SLC on Saturday and will move right in! Love ya!
