Last night i told Jeff we needed to buy a four square ball and teach the kids on the street how to play four square. So today after our fun bike ride and karate we went to target (it was only 10:00 am and I was ready for a nap) to get a ball. Oh what a shock we bought a pink one. We then ran into costco, for yes more Ling Lings, Cheese, berries, (our costco staples).
We came home and set up our four square in the street. It was so fun. the kids loved it. But the funny part was when they all went to the back yard to jump on the tramp. The dads got on the court and went to town. It was hillarious watching them play four square with the pink ball. They sure did kick it up a notch. just another reminder of how much we are going to miss our neighbors. it was like pouring salt in our wound!
One more note check out this photo of Jeff and Caroline. Our neighbor drilled a hole in a soft T-ball and tied a string through it. The kids will line up and he swings it around like a laso and the kids get a chance to hit it. Caroline was loving it.
{Did you play 4 square everyday all day like I did as a kid? }

I played 4 square constantly in 5 and 6th grade, I loved it. We actually played for awhile (as adults) a couple years ago at family functions. It was so fun. Then last year while visiting Randy's family in Illinois all the cousins were playing and I joined in, we had the best time (and I'm sure it was more fun than the adult conversation). I think I'll buy a ball next week and we'll start playing again.
I also loved playing 4 square in 5th and 6th grades, and I was good at it!! Every recess I would be out there on the asphalt playing, and my special friend was Marty Tabacchi -- we had lots of fun. In fact, Dean was playing baseball today at the elementary school where my fond memories of 4 square took place. Fun times!!! I don't know if I could play now unless it was with 10 year olds.
I loved four square. I remember it being a big hit in 4,5, and 6th grades. Another big favorite was kick ball. I love how serious they look in the picture...so intense!
Okay, so I have never played 4 square. I don't even remember kids playing it at my school. I'll have to look up how to play online and give it a try, I mean if grown men had fun playing it :)
I definitely remember playing four square. But I don't remember how to play it now! I love the idea and the photo.
I liked playing 4 square also. I loved the smell of that rubber ball. Weird, I know. I'd love to have you as a neighbor, you are so fun.
