Back to School Traditions.
monogram, monogram, monogram!
monogram, monogram, monogram!
So I am getting into full force of getting things ready for Annie Kate to start school.
I have been working on her new pj's that I give to her to sleep in that night.
Since my embroidery machine is getting fixed from the move (aghh!) I was looking through my many treasures in my craft room to come up with a different option for the back of the shirt.
I found this pack of iron on letters I bought years ago pre-embroidery machine and had never used. I tried them and they are great! They seem to be pretty sturdy. But they are in a cool font not the traditional football jersey font.
I bought them 3 years ago and threw away the tag so I can't even give a website of where you could find them. But I think Heidi Swapp has a line of iron on transfers. But if you go to Michaels Craft store they have a ton of different ones. They even have cool fonts of embroidered alphabets you can buy to iron on.
So if you are wanting to put names on backpacks, fabric book covers,(oh I will post about this later) inside jackets or sweaters and don't want to pay to have them monogrammed this may be a cheap way to do it. I bought the whole alphabet for $3.00.
I will post the pj's when finished.
*** of note I got the t-shirts at Children's place for $2.50 each. I got orange ones for the girls for Halloween***

So cute! Good thinking about the orange Halloween shirts. Sadly, Miriam wants to be a Disney Princess for Halloween and not Dorothy. I have been bribing her with a toy Dr. set if she will be a Dr. instead. I saw a zillion D.Princess dresses at Costco so I know there will be all over Halloween night.
That shirt is so cute. I should have known you would be able to continue your monograming greatness even though your machine is getting fixed. Wow.
Super fun! Wonder if I could get my 9 year old and 7 year old boys to go for something like this.
Any suggestions?
Dana
Love those PJ's!! What fonts do you regularly use for your embroidery machine?
I noticed awhile back you had some cute ones on some towels or something. My Mom has an embroidery machine and I would like to find her some cute but reasonably priced font software for it. (Her machine is a Brother.)
I'm going to have to go by the Children's Place. They just put an outlet in the Hershey Outlet Mall. Thanks for the tip!
You are the queen of monogramming and I absolutely love it!
You are a treasure trove of cool ideas! Annie Kate is so lucky to have you for her Mom--especially since she's starting a new school this year, something that's gotta be hard--especially since she had such good friends in Tennessee.
So crafty!!! Where do you find the time?
Super creative! The shirts are really cute that I would waer one!!! Your girls always have the cutest clothes!

These are just too cute! I'm going to have to find my way to Michael's and get some of those iron on letters! Where do you find all the time to be so super creative?
I got those shirts tonight in white, purple and orange. Thanks for the tip! You can't beat that price! Thanks!
Wow! Do your children just play nicely while you create...or do you do this after they go to bed? You are very talented.
Ingenious. I have found a great website here in Australia for kids' labels. It's www.stuckonyou.biz. I have gotten tags for the kids' backpacks, sticky labels for school folders, lunchboxes, drink bottles, tupperware, etc. and iron-on labels for clothing. They have cute graphics like pirate or princess. Not sure if they ship to US but it's worth a try. You should check it out!
Thanks for the tip- I need to go get Lulu some t-shirts today.
Oh and really- you need to put a book out. I can't believe what amazing things you come up with.
