goodbye old friend

For the past 5 years this camera has been with me almost every day.
I looked at my smugmug account and during the time I have had this camera I have downloaded 9634 photos.
But it is time for me to say goodbye to my old friend and hello to a new friend.

I love having zoom again

Sad--what's wrong with your camera? But so fun to get a new one. What are you going to get?

Hooray, Kristi is finally up to date! I am so excited that you finally upgraded that little guy. I would suggest keeping it, just in case you need a compact quick camera.

amy, you couldn't see anything on the back screen, the zoom was broken, the toggle in the back to see what photo you had taken was broken. it was a fighter, but it was time to let it rest. i am sure i will still use if for somethings.

what kind did you get??????? David is trying to see if we can get ours fixed currently as I type. If it's too much, we'll get a new one.

You'll have to post your new camera or at least which one you chose. We have and are still looking. I can't seem to bring myself to pay the price for the one I totally want. Ours in on the fritz too, but only 4 years old.

I worked at a photo store long enough to realize a few things:
1. If you camera is not under warranty (digital) then it is more than likely cheaper to buy a new one, than fix the old one.
2. The digital camera industry says camera technology 1 1/2 years ago is out of date.
3. If oyu geet more than 2 years out of you digital camera consider yourself lucky.
and
4. If you are curious about what to get chum up with someone at a local camera store. This does not mean Office supply stores or Electronics stores like Staples or Best Buy. Find a store that prints and sells equipment only. Most of the time they do not work off of commission and will help you find something that will work for you.

I have to agree with Spencer. Go to a camera store. When we bought our digital SLR we went to Inkleys. They were so helpful and knowledgable. We were very happy with our transaction.

Actually I would not reccomend Inkleys... okay that one is personal preference. They are good, they were just our competitor.

How exciting! Maybe you should let Annie Kate use your old one. That's what we did when I upgraded and it's been so fun to see what the boys take pictures of -- no worries about developing costs!
