Our first Kentlands Garage Sale

I love garage sales and today reminded me why. On our way downtown for a morning in the city to go to the National Book Festival put on by the Library of Congress, (take a look at our fun Saturday) we drove past a garage sale.
This is one of my favorite kind to find. The kind where kids have cleaned out their parents garage . 1. they have no real attachment to the items, 2. they don't know what their parents paid for the items and 3. they want to get rid of it all.
I got this old darling egg holder. It has no chips and will hold little treats at Easter of eggs any day of the week.
These old glasses. I got 12 large glasses and 12 small child size ones. Only one was chipped. They will match my red toile plates perfectly. This little 25 drawer box was one of my favorites of the day. All the screws and washers are in the original packaging. Jeff was thrilled but I don't think he realized I plan on using it for my treasures. $2.00These were great and I paid a little bit more than I wanted to. $8.00. There are 12 unused (still in their individually wrapped Bloomingdales bags) long ramikin like dish. It will perfect for individual servings of Apple Crisp and Carrot souffle.

I also got this awesome puppet theater and 25 puppets for $5.00. I can't find the photo that I took. I will be redoing the curtains on it so I will show a before and after photo at a later date.

Wow! You really did find some great stuff! I wish we had garage sales like that here. The decorations are beautiful and I had to laugh.....we made an apple crisp last night too! YUM! We are making an apple pie tonight....gotta get rid of all those apples we bought at the orchard.

You didn't sit by a 40-ish woman in the children's tent who was feverishly knitting a pair of socks did you?? :) As we walked through the Book Festival I thought again and again how much I love living here!

Fabulous finds! I can't believe how good you are at garage sale-ing. Are there any good garage sales in Utah?

here is my take on Utah garage sales.
The majority of the people have lots of kids, which means they have plenty of people to pass things down to so there is few people who have a garage sale where they are the only child and they don't have room for everthing their parents owned, which are the best garage sales to find. So Amy, they are harder to find.
