Sew Simple

After posting about sewing today I thought I would give ya'll a few easy sewing projects. They are sooo easy.
A few weeks ago I used the awesome fabric that Amy W. had sent me to make an bag to hold fresh apples. I simply cut a rectangle, folded it in half right sides together sewed up the seams and turned it inside out. ) I made some of Michelle's wonderful apple dip (minus the toffee bits, because I could not find them) and took them to a girl at church who was having a birthday. It was so easy and made taking apples a little more fun then just in a plastic bag. I also got the plastic container at the salad section at the grocery store. I have always offered to buy them but they just give them to me.

These aprons could be made with any sewing machine. I got these child size aprons at Hobby Lobby for $.99 each. I sewed ribbon on the top and across the middle then cut off the ties they had with the aprons and sewed on ribbon. I then did an iron on from my Scrapbook Factory program ( I always make fun of that program, but it is so easy to use) I made these as the take home gift for Caroline's birthday party last month.

Here are the Thank you cards made with the Tokyo girl font from Two Peas in a Bucket. A flat card put in a clear plastic envelope with the Disney stamp to top it off.

These are little pink Chinese take home boxes that I got at Michaels craft store, printed their name and laminated it so they could use it on a backpack.
I seriously did this the night before the party and it was so easy.

I have been sewing some Christmas gifts tonight and finished five and have just had the sewing bug today. It is driving me crazy not to post what I have made, but it could ruin the surprise for some blog readers...
I thought these would make great gifts for little kids or your lists.
Email me if you have any questions.

What great little projects.

I love to sew, but am more of a quilter. I also do quite a bit of altering, but I have never actually made my own clothes. I want to branch out and start making other things. I would love to learn how you make those beautiful tote bags. I will have to email you with a couple of questions.

I can already tell that I like you! Thanks for the ideas! I'm always looking for things to do for my Beehive class for mutual! Thanks for visiting my blog! I have to tell you my husband served a mission in Louisiana! So when he met me he knew he had to marry me-(hahaha). I was named after my Aunt Louise, my grandpa loved the State. Anyway kind of cool!

Those aprons are too cute. Two of my three girls are very crafty and I love the idea of sewing with them. I am excited to read your archives.

You're out of control (as usual) and I love it. It's so inspiring. I need to get busy with Christmas projects so that it doesn't sneak up on me. I feel more motivated after seeing all your cute projects. You may turn me into a sewing-fanatic too.

Sew Adorable! I love the pink and green birthday items. It is hard to find boyish stuff to make but they still seem to love receiving a personalized and handmade gift. I am always amazed at how many people who don't have their children send thank you notes (or send them on their behalf). It is such a wonderful tradiotion and a great habit to teach your children. You are the picture of grace, my friend!

I had that program AGES ago and it has been sitting on my computer for awhile. I am going to get cracking on it. I love the circle.

Those aprons are so clever. Those would be good presents for my nieces too! You are so very clever.

I just bought some apples for my visiting teachee's...I am going to sew apple bags tonight...

Also, we were inspired by Mindy's bags...a birthmother support group I know of does a similar thing, but they have used tote bags (the purpose being for the ladies to have a special place to store all their letters and pictures). They rely on donations and the bags can get pricy. I am going to clean out my fabric closet and sew some bags instead. I get to do something to help, it cleans out some space and it helps an organization that really needs it....everyone wins. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. SO...already it is going forward and the show hasn't even aired yet....
