So now I feel myself starting from scratch again to get better. We will have to cancel going to this fun party tomorrow night and I can't believe I am saying this but may cancel teaching R.S. on Sunday. I hate to do that to someone, maybe Chanel can teach her lesson and then fly to D.C ...
One of the gals I visit teach (who is an amazing gardner) didn't see me on Sunday and heard I was sick, called me today to see how I was doing. She told me about her daughter at BYU who had the flu didn't let herself recover and now has pneumonia and mono. She - in a good way - scared me into taking a few days to recover. Then tonight she brought me the most amazing, homemade chicken noodle soup and fresh bread. I am so humbled by her kindness and concern.
Which leads me into why visiting teaching is so amazing. In the past three weeks the girls I visit teach have (note these are not the girls that vt me)
- brought three dozen doughnuts to my house the night before Annie Kate's baptism for my family
- made my thanksgiving turkey for me, which was the most amazing turkey we have ever had
- noticed I was not at church, called me 4 days later and then brought me homemade soup.
This is VT in the reverse and totally amazing to me.
So now to watching more Food Network, reading blogs and hopefully a lot of sleeping.
My to do list before Christmas... What can I delete? (I am sure most would say all!)- making homemade granola for all my neighbors, with my cute labels and paper bags saying,"Breakfast with Santa"
- sending a few more gifts in the mail
- Christmas cards
- get my husband a gift
- make my girls love gifts (still have not even decided what that will be)
- teacher gifts, oooh I wonder if I have anymore gumballs
- a homemade yummy to bring the Bishop for tithing settlement on Sunday
- put the ornaments on the tree
- do that awesome thing that I have been dreaming up in my head for 5 months now to give to my college roommates (oh some day ... maybe not this week)
- send all the thank you cards I need to send

I'm so sad to read that you're in bed sick again. Did you get any of those Clorox wipes and run around decontaminating things? I swear by that method. Being sick is a great time to read in bed, do you have any good books to read?? That's the best part about being sick.
I think you need to seriously edit your to-do list and start dreaming of a healthy Christmas. Take care my friend!
I think you could drop all on your list except gifts for your dear girls and hubby...there will always be another Christmas and many more that you are not bedridden during!
I hope you feel much better very soon.
Kristi,
I agree with Jordan. I for one think doing a "New Year's treat" for your neighbors and bishop would be fine. A note thanking him is more than sufficent, since most people do nothing.
Take care of yourself, I was serious about bringing you soup in the hospital today!
oh my word!! I hope you are getting plenty of the much needed rest your body needs. There is nothing better than homemade chicken noodle soup. Those things on your list are great, and I am sure that it helped just expressing your ideas on your blog. MAybe you should enlist you VT gals to help you take on all of the rest of your to do list!
Kristi--Sorry to hear you're flat again.
Those pillows are the greatest. That fur tops them off!
Get well.
Love, Jane
P.S. I love the granola tag idea!
You sound very, very busy!
I just stumbled upon your blog and have to say I just love it. Gorgeous banner!
The mono thing scares me, I am in college currently and fear catching that!
Keep sipping on that soup!
What a great idea, New Year's gifts and notes. There tends to be a holiday let down so what a great pick me up.
Take care Kristi, getting sick on top of sick is never a good thing!
You have some really fantastic women in your ward!! I think it is sooo wonderful what they have been doing for you! Take care, get plenty of rest and get over being sick soon!
Maybe you can edit your list down to just family, and make a new years granola for your neighbors instead (if you feel that you've really got to do something at all).
Feel better soon.
Oh no! I'm so sorry to hear that you're back down. It's hard to cut things off your list when they're all good things. I think New Year's treats would be a great way to move a few things off your list, but still serve the same purpose. I had the flu, and then got mono in college. Terrible!
Hopefully you can get lots of sleep and rest, and you'll be feeling better in no time.
Take care of yourself and get better! :)
So sorry to hear that you are sick! Take care of yourself and remember your health is most important! Feel better.
