Washing up after Christmas

Today we finished taking down our Christmas decorations. The tree and half eaten cranberry wreath went the day after Christmas (those dang squirrels)

This was my second year putting magnolia flowers on my tree and I think they will stay. Annie Kate thinks it makes the tree look messy.
thanks to the ribbon outlet I had chocolate brown and lime green velvet ribbon bows everywhere.
My pineapples always make an appearance during the holidays. Thanks to my friend Emily G. I had many more around my house. I kept a few out to try to do a January arrangement. We will see how it goes.

But the best is washing off the Gingerwood house. If you don't know what this is, oh my it is amazing! We will pull out for many holidays this year. Valentines house covered in pink icing, Green leprechaun house, bunny house for Easter, we will attempt a White House during the 4th of July and a haunted house during Halloween. Any other ideas I might be missing?
It was a great a Christmas and I love to decorate but I am always happy to clean it up.

I am not enjoying cleaning up after Christmas, luckily everything has made it to the basement where I can ignore it.

Please post your 100 list. I wrote mine very quickly too and didn't let myself go back and edit. I have to hurry and get it done and post it before I talk myself out of it. I would love to learn 100 things you think about yourself. I will be checking back....

It's funny how we all love to decorate, but by the time New Years rolls around, we are oh so glad to see it cleaned up.

I would never have thought to do the Gingerwood houses other times of year. That's a cute idea. I like the idea of a Valentines Day house and a bunny house b/c the candy at Easter is so plentiful and good.

How about a school house for the beginning of school? Or a pool house for the summer? Maybe not a smokehouse for the turkey at Thanksgiving. That would just be to sad. I haven't taken down my decorations yet. What a job!

I think you may be overlooking an Arbor Day House and possibly a Labor Day House as well. Ha. I think a Valentine's house is a great idea.

I'm seriously jealous about the ribbon outlet.

I love your magnolias on the tree -- beautiful! And you green and brown bows are gorgeous. I, too, am jealous of the ribbon outlet.

What about a mardi gras house. The Cutler's can't miss the Feb. 20th holiday. If I remember correctly you were die hard bead yellers like us right?

I am with Amie, post your 100 list. I did mine today. It was fun.

Post it, Post it!

I'm all for a back to school house and what about a may day house, covered in flowers.

Love the brown and green ribbon!

Oh...I haven't even started taking things down.

Love the Gingerwood house idea, your girls will be pro cake decorators by the time they are grown. As they get older you could move on to icing bags and tips.
I vote for the 100 as well! That would be fun.

Kristi,
I love the school house idea!

Seriously, next time you go to the ribbon outlet, let me know, I'll meet you there! I still haven't been!

I'll join the chant, "Post your 100. Post your 100. Post your 100."

I love all of the decorating ideas for the house. What good ideas everyone has.

Ummmmm....the only one I can think of is a log cabin for President's weekend.

Hate to say it, but I loved cleaning up Christmas this year. Our tree was so dead I couldn't wait to see it go.

I love your idea of doing gingerbread houses all year long. I think a haunted house would be so fun to make.

You gotta post your list!!!

And I too am jealous of the ribbon outlet!

I took all my Christmas down the day after Christmas. I was ready! I usually leave it up until New Years day.

Oh- I'm so jealous of the magnolias. What a GREAT idea. I also love the idea of washing off all the candy from the gingerbread house. Pure genius.

Isn't that the truth...we all love to decorate but then are so glad to clean up and get things back to normal. Your bows are gorgeous. I love the green and brown bow thing. I started cleaning up today. It will have to wait until tomorrow.

I love the magnolias, and the ribbons. That ribbon outlet must be something else. We cleaned up all our Christmas stuff on Monday. I hate the process, but I'm glad it's done!
