This week I made some announcements for my friend. Her daughter is getting baptized next month. I know some of you may like seeing this for baby announcements, christening or baptisms.
Here is what I used to make the card.
Sizzix die cut machine (i love this thing and use it often)
Dress die cutCut in White 100lb paper
scallop frame cut in cream light weight paper and in vellum
scallop blade for rotary cutter
scoring blade for rotary cutter
rotary cutter
glue stick
100lb white paper. the better the paper makes all the difference in a nice card
After they were printed I cut them in 5x7 size. If you use heavy paper you need to score the fold to get a clean fold.
I used my rubber brayer on top to really press the die cuts down. This is a great trick to do with out having the die cuts shift when pressing.
As always if you have any questions leave me a comment. Hopes this helps spark new creativity!

I cut the outer right edge with the scallop blade. This is a great blade to have, I use it all the time. The detail of this gives it a real feminine look.
I glued the dresses on the oval.

Very nice! I'm sure your friend is very pleased.
Have a great weekend!
Those are beautiful. Thank you for sharing the "how to"!
So cute Kristi!!! You constantly amaze with all of your talents! I will now chalk up "advisory chef" on to you resume after today! thanks for the help!
You are always so good to share your wonderful ideas. It's great for those like me who don't come up with great ideas, but like copying! Thanks for sharing!
You're out of control! I love the step by step instructions and photos.
These looks really chic. And I love the way you've set out your 'how to' instructions. I'm glad you've found time to indulge in some creativity with illness and J away!
Oops, I meant to ask, Kristi - which font did you use on the card for the baby's name? It's really pretty - and lovely name too ;-P
amanda. i actually didn't print them because my new printer would not take the heavy paper (rats) so i had a girl at chruch print them for me. but i think it was lucidia.
Oh my are these just too sweet...love them.
Thx, Kristi. It's a pain when our printers struggle to take decent weight paper. I always stand over mine with trepedation and sort of 'feed it in' with fingers crossed! You know, the more I looked at that font the more it seemed a bit familiar to smthg I'd used to design an advert for a manicurist friend, and it was Harrington. Maybe they're one and same font??
Very elegant Kristi! I love that you are so willing to share you creative talents with us!
