Easter Ideas

I have so little time to blog today, but had to get this on here in case anyone wanted to order this book before I start talking about it every day for the next 3 weeks. (ok I will try to not over do it, I am just get so excited about this book)
I picked up this book last year and it seriously changed how we celebrate Easter. I have had in my head for years of coming up with an Easter Advent Calendar and this was the first thing that has really got my mind going and hope someday to complete it. (the idea still sits in my head) It encourages you to spend the week before Easter focusing on the last week of Christ's life.

You can order the book here. This is a great book for any faith that celebrates Easter. It also applies to all age groups, family with no kids, little kids, teenagers or a combo of both.

I didn't do a great job of documenting all we did, but did take some photos in 2006. You can see our Smugmug gallery here.
I will have lots more to come on this for sure, but wanted to give anyone interested a heads up and plenty of time to get the book if you would like.

I found after we had used this book that the author is Lara & Katie's aunt or cousin. (is that right?)

I LOVE THIS BOOK! It helped us focus more on Christ last year and I'm excited to do more from it this year too.

It's funny you've mentioned this book as only today I was trawling through Amazon, trying to find a 'decent book' to give Erin for Easter.

What does this Easter Advent LOOK LIKE???
*curiosity buzzing*

I've done my own Palm Sunday to Easter Sunday activities. My local church bookstore doesn't have this book, but I was happy to order it from deseret books (you're a reliable source). I'll post if any of my own Christ-centered Easter ideas aren't covered in the book.

It is my cousin and his wife and they are seriously superstars. We saw them this Christmas and I gushed about how much you LOVED this book. He was so thankful and happy someone loved the book as much as they did

I flipped through this book a few nights ago and am really excited to do some of the preschool activities. I love the pictures you took last year.

The dress did shrink (was a bit skeptical with a size 5), Miriam wore it to church last Sunday...it's darling! I will post a picture. Thank you so much!!

Thanks for all the info. I have been checking out your site and enjoying all the great ideas for awhile. Being from the DC area myself, I enjoy the historic sites you show. I should take andvatage of them more. I ordered this book because we have a hard time helping the kids understand Easter is more than chocolate. I am looking forward to putting it into action this year. Thanks!!
