this week's challenge is to show us a lucky charm. perhaps it is a piece of jewelry? or a talisman you carry in your pocket? do you have something on your desk or in your home that brings you good fortune? is it a baseball hat or a smelly old t-shirt? did someone give it to you? why is it meaningful to you? will you tell us about a time when it brought you good luck?

I did not have to think hard about this one. The best Good luck charm I have ever had is "Biffy" Santa Claus brought him to me 32 years ago. He is a little bean doll that has been with me all growing up, lived in the dorms with me (hidden from my roommate) he didn't go on my mission with me but moved in with Jeff and I when we got married.

I love this doll. He has had lots of scrapes and bumps along the way. I will never forget ironing and sewing on the yellow sugar smacks patch that I had got out of the cereal box. finding yarn out of my mother's needlepoint kit and sewing him up form time to time.

He now lives on the top shelf in my sewing room. I love this guy!

How awesome that you still have him after all of these years. I don't have anything like that from my childhood!

Oh I wish I still had my 'bean'doll. Her name was beansie, for obvious reasons.

I had a girl one of those! She was in a bright pink outfit with a bonnet on. Her name was Beansie. I have no idea if my parents still have her...
We miss y'all! Jeni and fam are moving now. I'm beginning to think it's us!

Biffy certainly looks like he could tell a few stories! Is he one of those things that you would grab if the house caught fire?

Now THAT is sweet.

So great, and I love that at college nobody knew about him!

Everyone should be so lucky to have such a 'charm' from their childhood! :)

I'm dying over Jill's short "I had no idea". Too funny. I can't imagine having anything for 32 YEARS! You are amazing..and he looks pretty dang good, considering.

That's so cool - I find myself wishing for a few of the things I had as a child.

What is "She Photographs on Tuesdays" - can you link me to the information? I'd love to join! Thanks!

You can see the love you had for him because of his bumps and bruises and all his stitches. What a great place to keep him in the sewing room.

Oh Biffy! You look as adorable as the last time I laid eyes on you. I should have know better to think an e-bay Biffy in better condition could replace the "real thing." Love Ya!

I love that you have held on to and cared for Biffy for so long. I'm not sure if I have any of my special doll friends around.
Cool that he resides on your sewing room.

So cute Kristi. I wish I had my baby blanket, I would have posted it for sure. It is in a closet at my mom's. I need to bring it home one day for sure!

Isn't that the brother of kid sister? Kid sister, kid sister, kid sister and me!! Remember that song? That is a serious charm--he has been through a lot!

Gosh, I don't have anything at all from my childhood -- pretty cool that you still have him and he is in good shape! That must be fun for your girls to know about.
