cereal pick

While I have been away Jeff took the girls to the grocery store to each pick out their own box of cereal. anything they want! Can you imagine the childhood joy of this!

Annie Kate - Coco Pebbles

Caroline - Yucky Charms (she can not say the letter "L")

Sally Jane - Fruit Loops

What would you pick if could guilt free eat any cereal?

mine would be Freakies.... if they still made it. This was my favorite cereal when I was a kid. And I had all of these toys inside too. Oh the memories!

"Your favorite cereal?"
leave a comment and you just might see a box appear in your mail...

Captain Crunch, baby! Cereal is my favorite meal of all. Seriously.

It would have to be Honeycombs. Oh how I love Honeycombs. Breakfast, dinner, lunch, snack....it's all good! :)

Strawberry Frosted Mini-Wheats. Love them!

Sainsbury's Triple Chocolate Crisp. It's got white, milk and dark chocolate in it. The Guardian newspaper decried it as a 'pudding', not a cereal. *blush*

My most recent favorite is Eggo (I think it's waffle crisp)...maple flavored.
I actually looked for some to buy the other day, and they didn't have any.
My kids would have been in heaven to choose their VERY own box of cereal!
Yea Dad!

i think i would have to go with cookie crisp~i don't know if they even make that anymore. I'll have to remember this when i go to the grocery store & i have my kids with me.

So the ALL TIME greatest cereal in my opinion is Raisin Squares by Kelloggs. Seriously delicious.
However, they stopped selling it in 99.9% of stores in the US. Occasionially I'll see it at a random market, and when I do I scoop up all the boxes that they have on the shelf.
It really is that good.

Fruity Pebbles!!!! Yummy- just talking about them makes me want some!

When I was young my Granny would keep them at her house just for me and my sister- it was our special treat! As a child I could eat a couple of bowls at a time. Just think how much I could eat now!

Yes, I love Fruity Pebbles!

Oh, this is a tough one for me because I love cereal. I would have to say my all-time fave is Cap'n Crunch Peanut Butter. Yum!

This is exactly the kind of thing my dad did with us kids when we were little and my Mom was out of town.

Hmm....I think I'd have to go with Captain Crunch or Golden Grahams.

Rice Krispy Treats cereal- I loved that stuff and will sometimes let the krispy treats I make go stale and crumble them up and pour milk over them. So good.

I have never heard of Freakies, but they look awesome! I am actually really loving Archer Farms (Target brand) organic french vanilla granola! So fatty and caloric, so it's really a treat!

I enjoy Pops, Apple Jacks and the occasional bowl of Cocoa Krispies. We rarely got sugar cereal as kids so I buy it all the time now. I get whatever is on sale, and my kids don't have to eat the box in one sitting for fear they'll never get any more the way I did as a kid. Good times.

Sugar rich cereal was always a treat when I was a kid, usually reserved when I was with my grandparents. Now I can buy my own for a late night treat!

Then I chose Cookie Crisp--pure sugar goodness. Now I buy the store brand version of Lucky Charms for an extra burst of marshmallow sweetness.

But it's ALL good!

Though I'm not a fan of cereal as an adult. My all time favorite part of family vacations growing up was that my Mom would buy the variety pack of those tiny cereals. It was a new treasure every single morning. And the little boxes could be your bowl. Great memories!

Ok I guess I am a crazy mom because we have sugar cereals everyday. It is all I really like. My favorite is Trix, but I like to have a variety at all times. I won't buy Lucky Charms anymore because the kids only eat the marshmellows. Ok I have a cute tradition for you. Each year in my home growing up Santa Clause brought sugar cereal: one box for each of us. We only got sugar cereal at Christmas and I loved it.

I usually just have Frosted Flakes, but sometimes late at night I find myself craving Captain Crunch.

I love OH's from Quaker and Honey Bunches of Oats. I'm not a big sugar cereal fan. However, I do have a funny story for you. When I moved out on my own for the 1st time, I went grocery shopping to stock my new kitchen. (this is in college) I walked down the cereal isle in total awe. I had no idea there was that much cereal. I just stood there and stared! I was brought up on Oatmeal, pancakes, waffles, eggs, and for cereal - Chex, Crispex, Cherrios, Rice Crispies. You know the basics. Maybe Corn Flakes on occasion. Never Sugar cereal. oh what a sin! So next time you go down that cereal isle, look at it through a poor nieve girl's point of view and take note of all your options!

Pops! When I was little they were called Sugar Pops! When everyone realized that sugar was not so good for us... the word Sugar was removed from the name, but they still taste soooo good!

I loved Apple Jacks and Cocoa Pebbles when I was a kid. I try to surprise my kids with sweet sugary cereals and they just don't eat them very well. It's disappointing.

I'm with Caroline-- Charms for sure!

That would have to be Golden Grahams. I could eat the whole box in one sitting. They don't make the box very big. I also love Grape Nuts....especially warm with honey mixed in. So yummy!!!

We couldn't live without cereal at our house. For myself I like the healthy kind in the morning like Kashi Go Lean Crunch, Cascadian Farm Cinnamon Raisin Granola or Maple and Brown Sugar Oatmeal. For a late night snack or anytime snack I'd eat any cereal. Seriously, I love the stuff!

I've never heard of Freakies but am all about cool cereal toys!

My fav is the Reeses cereal, as good as the real thing. But wait, I just read Amanda's comment about Triple Chocolate Crips. I can't even imagine that is a cereal and not a dessert. That will be my new fav as soon as I get my hands on a box.

I love Cheerios. I used to have a duffel bag with my name on it "Sarah Did It!" Remember that campaign? Everyone was a champion and we all "Did It!". I also had a bowl and a spoon with my name on them that proclaimed that I "Did It!" I did it every morning, again and again.

Cereal in Montreal is soooo expensive! I spend 3.99 plus 15% tax on a small box of Captain Crunch (my favorite!) and at target in the states, you can get the mondo sized boxes for only $2.99!

Gotta go with Heather, Kristy, and Stefanie- Peanut Butter Captain Crunch. Love the way it sticks to your teeth when eating it. :)

Mmmm...cinnamon toast crunch! I used to get that every year for my birthday and I'd eat it dry as a snack. That stuff is the best!

OK, I have never heard of Freakies, but it sure does look fun! My favorite guilty pleasure cereal is Reese's.

p.s. can you believe my kids don't really eat cereal -- even the good sugary stuff! Also, I'd say that more than 50% of the cereals here involve chocolate!

I used to love to mix Shredded Wheat with Life, but now that I have discovered Oatmeal Squares and they don't get soggy, I am a believer

strawberry squares were good, but I don't think they sell them anymore

I used to love Captain Crunch, but I don't know, I don't have as big of a sweet tooth anymore. I love my GoLean Crunch.
