for no reason at all - really no reason I have stopped wearing make up. Since July 22 I had not worn a stitch of make up until last Sunday. I didn't wear it on our trip to Europe and then when I got home I was in such a haze and felt like I was constantly sleeping I never put it on. Then I went home for over a week and never put it on there, then since being home I thought why bother. I am lucky to still have a post summer tan so I think that could be why I don't feel like I need to wear it. But I have loved being able to rub my eyes at any time and not get mascara smeared everywhere.
So Sunday I thought I should end my near two month cycle and wear it - I ended up crying the entire Sunday and so I spent the whole day with mascara dripping down my face -
I never seem to have the few minutes to even put it on and now that I have gone almost two months I think I have given up on make-up, is that crazy! I probably look like I just woke up every day but I love it. But I am fully prepared to put it on again in a month when my pasty winter white complexion comes back.

I often try the "no make-up" thing, but I have naturally red undertones and it looks like I'm constantly blushing! So make-up usually wins. Plus I don't tan, I just get redder! I think it's great if you don't need it or have the thought to not wear it - it is quite freeing.
one thing about having a 16 year old girl in the house... there is a lot of makeup! and i have felt totally out-of-it! i still stick with my eyeliner and lipgloss. that's about it, though...
When I have a tan, i MAYBE put mascara on but feel fine with nothing. In the dead of winter- I feel like I really need makeup. Mostly because otherwise people ask me "are you tired? You look tired". Gee, thanks. Haha:)
I think that you are lucky that you look so good without makeup. My eyelashes completely have disappeared (white, or grey), and I look tired, etc. More power to you............ Having a tan helps, that is for sure!
love the title-- had me intrigued.and you are stunning with our without it anyway. with that smile, who needs makeup?
i wear little make up as it is and when i do it is only to enhance. scott and the girls don't even usually know i have it on (is that good or bad? lol)
i do enjoy putting on make up as a going out treat but don't like to think about it on a daily basis.
How nice would that be to not have to wear make-up. No tan for me...I have light eyelashes, and light eyebrows so if I don't wear makeup I look like a totally different person. I have always wished i could be the "natural" type ha ha
I haven't worn makeup in about 16 years (not that I ever really did before that)! Well, I do put on the occasional lipstick. One of these days I will grow up and start wearing it, but for now it makes life a lot easier. The added bonus is that it saves me lots of time in the morning and time is one thing that I am always lacking!
I can relate to the not wearing makeup thing. It is nice to not worry about it smearing. But, I still usually wear it because I feel better when I do, and I am definitely not tan!
I don't wear any anytime unless you count chap stick. :)
It's liberating to be able to go without make-up for so long. I don't wear very much, but enough that it makes me feel like I look more presentable. I'm not freaky about it though and have definitely gone out and about without wearing any.
Perhaps you just need waterproof mascara?!
I second the need for waterproof mascara! I have days when I don't wear makeup, but I really don't look good, and after a couple of days I feel the need to look presentable again. I don't think I've ever gone to church without makeup! (since I was about 14, that is...) You are a natural beauty to be able to pull that off, Kristi.
What would Bobbi Brown think of this post???
barb - I think bobbi brown would send me a kit of free makeup and say you just need a little to make your natural beauty shine and if she did i would totally comply!
and jill and michelle i do have waterproof mascara and i just don't believe it works, i must have super strength tears!
I do the no make-up thing alot right now but my eyelashes are so blond you can't see them and so I look really funny if I don't have mascara, then I just might as well put the other stuff on and look much better! But it's mostly on Sundays that I do my make-up.
You do have a beautiful complexion! Tans always help...that's what I love about summer. Less make-up. Enjoy the break! :)
I say good for you! You are so beautiful- why wear it if you don't need it? And the mascara thing would be frustrating!
I don't know if this happens when you are in your 30ties...but it did happen to me. I always thought I would never go without...and suddenly I think I was sick and ended up going to work w/o and from that day on...I just quit...and weird because when I feel bad that is when I try to look my best. So over the years, I have come back to my old self here and there...but never with the same regularity as I did before. It is stranger when you do look so different--in my case. It is always hard to wear make up when you are tan.
I myself am not a huge make-up fan. I can't seem to want to put foundation all over my face- yuck!!!! Just a little mascara some days and I am a happy camper!!!
I just cannot stand to spend time putting makeup on. Maybe it is a self esteem thing. Anyway, I went to the MAC counter one time and asked for a makeover but with one condition, I wanted to be able to do my makeup in less than 15 minutes. They were not appreciative of the challenge!! But, they did help me with some great eye makeup. I usually wear bare minerals though - it is amazing. If you haven't tried it, I bet you will really like it. It is like just putting on powder with a brush, and you don't need any other foundation. Then I use mascara and some lip gloss. If I am really dressing up, I will put on eyeshadow and blush, but not on a daily basis.
I highly recommend bare minerals though!
