Home safe and sound

Our extended 4 day weekend has come to an end. We celebrated Columbus Day the same way we did last year trying to catch fish. Got skunked again. Even with the canoe.
Caroline served us crushed graham crackers on a log
Annie Kate hiked with Sally Jane on her back

and Jeff and I kept the cabin at 67 degrees so we could get it cold enough to justify building a fire in the fireplace. (it was so warm unlike last year where we had hats and scarves on)

Great trip but I am off to bed and let smugmug download the rest of my photos.

Welcome home! Any chipped teeth this time? I can't wait to see the photos, that one of Sally Jane on Annie Kate's back is darling!

Looks you had fun!

Turning the air down sounds like something we would do! I love fires in the fireplace!

Welcome back. There are almost no such thing as fireplaces here. I can't wait to spend Christmas around my Mom's this year.

Welcome back! Where exactly did you go? We had a fun trip up to Vermont. I really wanted to stay in a cabin, but we couldn't find anything less than $250 a night with 3 night minimum, we are too cheap I guess.

DCL is so beautiful and seems a world away from the "busy"ness of where we actually live. Sounds like you had a great time!

looks like a great trip and i love that you turned the heat down to use the fireplace. :)

p.s. i used your "spooking" idea and we had so much fun doing it. the kids weren't crazy at first about giving away perfectly good candy but eventually they got into. thanks for the idea!

The smiling faces suggest no-one was really bothered about the fishing, or lack of. Glad you had a good time. Are you really letting Smugmug run itself while you go to bed?? I never let the computer do anything during the night. I'm not quite multi-tasking up to your standard, am I? ;-P
