Thirty Seven

Every morning when Caroline wakes up she asks me where Jeff is. I say at work and then she says in a funny voice, "Again?" she seems disgusted that that happens everyday.
When I woke up this morning to my birthday my reaction is a little different only I was shouting the same word, "Yea AGAIN" I love my birthday, I just love it! So I am excited for today being my birthday.

1. I saw ET in theaters the weekend it came out
2. I remember putting 8 tracks in our silver Buick. "Cat at the cradle and the silver spoon..."
3. I remember when we didn't have a microwave
4. I worked at a video store where people would rent the VCR just for the night
5. The year I was born the 26th amendment was passed
   
6. I worked when min. wage was $3.15
7. I remember standing in the parking lot to see Star Wars in the movies.
8. I remember going to a lot of drive in movies
9. I remember when McDonald's came out with Chicken nuggets
10. I watched Brady Bunch, Love Boat and Fantasy Island on t.v.
11. disposable diapers were invented 7 years after I was born
12. i remember wearing leg warmers and they were cool.
13. I remember when the first Swatch Watch came out we got the one that smelled.
14. I remember when Coke came out with the new Coke
15. THe year I was born the National Women's Political Caucus was founded to encourage more women to get involved in politics. Its founders were Betty Friedan, Gloria Steinem, Bella Abzug and Shirley Chisholm. - This year a woman is running for president.
    
16. I remember standing in line with my parents to vote the year Ronald Reagan won
17. I remember in elementary school when the Rubik cube came out and we would bring our unsolved cubes to be solved by the smart kid at school

21. I remember when the Seat Belt law came out and my mom trying to encourage all of us to put on our seat belts when we got in the car. I also remember commercials on t.v for the campaign.
22. I remember if you wanted to watch the news you had three choices of channels to watch it on and it was only on at 6:00 pm
23. I remember when Cartoons were only on Saturday morning and it was a big deal to get up and watch them.
    
24. I remember when music video's came out and there was a show called Friday Night Video's. It was only 30 minutes and we got to see about 8 videos. There was always a Duran Duran one and I loved the one "Take on Me!"
25. I remember when I could buy 4 candy bars for $1.00 at the Pick Quick
26. I remember being in college and one of my classes spent three days teaching us what the World Wide Web was and that this thing called the Internet would be coming out.
27. I remember when Jeff's parents bought a modem so we could get email and it being a huge deal. My first email address was. Fishwithus@aol.com
28. I remember when we went to Church two different times on a Sunday, before they combined all the meetings into one.

30. I remember the Iran Hostage situation and on the news every night in the right hand corner they had how many days the Hostages had been gone.
31. I remember in High School when the Berlin Wall came down. I was taking German that year and I remember my German teacher crying about it.

33. I remember the year I turned 12 and I got a stereo with a really nice record player.

I was thinking when I wrote this what my Grandma's list would have looked like when she was 37.
