My friend Melinda is one of the most outgoing and loving people that I know. She is always doing things for other people even though she has a special needs child and has been having some medical problems of her own. She helps others when they are in need and never asks for help when she is having a hard time. She always has a smile on her face and praises God every chance she gets. She has been an inspiration in my life. She is the perfect example of how God will carry you through life's many trials and tribulations if you will let him.
Have a blessed day!
Melissa
Kristen and I have been friends since we were 9 years old (we are now in our mid 30's) And we actually have never lived in the same town. The closet we ever lived was within 45 miles of eachother and the furthest was when I lived in Maine and she in Washinton.
She is my kindred spirit. She is Diana to my Anne (for those Anne of Green Gables fan) We have kept in touch all these years, and I have had friends come and go, but Kris remains my dearest and truest. I have shared my deepest, darkest secrets with her.
She is the most beautiful woman I have ever known...not just her exterior, but her personality is incredible. She made me want to be better.
I would love us to win the slippers. We have not seen eachother for 10 years, but it would be fun to win the slippers and then every night when I put them on I will think of my bosom friend
Thanks for letting me share my friend with you...

I have a several amazing girlfriends, but one of my best friends has to be my sister, Johnah. We are thirteen months apart and grew up like twins. We roomed together for most of our lives, including college. She has loved me through good/bad, prayed for me, laughed with me, and soo much more. Even in college when I had jaw surgery she nursed me back to health when our mother couldn't because she was in the hospital back home. Recently, she plotted with my NOW fiance' to plan a huge suprise with our other college friends and our families for the day of my proposal. She makes everything in life even more special.
Thanks Kristi, I love reading your blog! www.xanga.com/sarahbethc
What a fun giveaway Kristi & Natalie- I was a pink Christmas girl and love your stuff. On to the questions:
Other than my family, my friend are absolutely hands down my cheerleaders. I don't think I'd be here without them- seriously.
As I started to comment on this I decided that it's WAY too long. SO I will post about it today sometime- check it out: www.adventureswiththeprovosts.blogspot.com
Thanks again- you rock!
I hope my sister doesn't read this, I am counting on there being so many comments it's too overwhelming to read through them.
Anyway, my little sister Sarah is a single mom of 2 kids, she is going to school to become a teacher, works as the director of a mentoring program, serves as secretary for Primary, and choir pianist in her church. With all that on her plate she always sends MY kids holiday packages and never ever forgets any of our birthdays. I keep telling her not to spend money on us since things are so tight financially, but she continually says "it makes me happy. It's my love language".
one of my favorite girlfriends is my daughter Jordan. i automatically thought of her when i read this post and almost didn't write about her, since it's a "Girlfriends Giveaway". but i felt i would be silly not to take the opportunity to write a little bit about this amazing girl and the blessings she has brought into my life, even if it removes my chance of winning those SUPER cute slippers.
Jordan is the most compassionate loving person. she loves without condition, makes sure that everyone is included at birthday parties, sleep overs, YW activities etc. i have watched her scan the room several times and go over to bring someone sitting on the sidelines "in" to whatever is going on. she just has that kind of soul. she doesn't want anyone to ever feel left out. she has taught me so much about friendship and loyalty. she has a giving spirit and volunteers for whatever there is a need for. she is an example of spiritual strenghth too. every night when we join her for her bedtime prayers she makes sure to list the many things she is thankful for before she asks for any blessings.
Jordan has special needs but gets through her trials with hard work and humor. she never ceases to amaze me with her pure awesomeness.

I have several close girlfriends, but I would have to pick Mary to mention in my comment. What has she done? Well, when we had our baby last Feb she was the first friend at the hospital to hold him. She held him a lot in the next few months. She drove me to the hospital when he was taken to the ER. She came to visit each day he was there. She led the music at his funeral. She brought us fudge and fancy chocolates on his birthday. She has done a lot for me in this past year. Not to mention she is 34 weeks pregnant and loves slippers!
awesome giveaway.. I love your stuff..
my closest friend is my sister cami.. we are 13 months apart, she is older :) but we have ALWAYS been best friends.. I don't ever remember fighting with her.. we use to think we were twins.. we look nothing alike.. but I guess that was my simple mind.. we haven't lived in the same state for 19 years.. but we talk almost daily.. often more than once!.. she gets me.. she knows me, and we think alike.. I guess that is why we get along so well..when she left for BYU, I cried and cried.. when she decided to go on a mission.. I cried too, but then followed in her footsteps.. I am grateful to have such a great sister who I look up in so many ways, we have different struggles in this life, but I think are still able to sympathize with each other-I would be lost without her.
Carolyn is the true sister friend of my heart! For the last 20 months, I have been working on completing my Masters Degree. Carolyn has really helped out our family by watching our sweet Caroline(age 7), if my husband and I couldn't be with Caroline for some reason. She is always there for me whenever I need her. I tell her that she does so much for me, and that I am grateful God gave me such a good friend. Carolyn always responds with "no, you really do more for me!" What a blessing she is to me and to everyone that knows her.
I think this would be a perfect gift for my friend Emilee, we both have Cystic Fibrosis and therefore have never met in person (we are not allowed too) I have only known her for two years now but she is the only friend with CF that I have and totally understands me, since we have CF we both go to the hospital for 2-3 weeks a couple times a year and these slippers would be so nice to have while there. She sent me a nice gift for christmas and because of my circumstances I couldn't send anything to her, she is a wonderful friend and I would love to give her something she could use and help make her hospital stays a little nicer (if that's possible:))
When I am pregnant I get very, very sick. The summer after we moved to the East (away from family) I got pregnant. I was doing OK until my husband's birthday..and it hit me. I was down in bed and couldn't move. I had a prescription called in but couldn't get it until later that night. I called my friend Lara (who I hadn't known for long) and she came over to watch my two older kids AND made a pie from scratch for my husband's birthday (he prefers pies to cakes). I will never forget her kindness that day. Since then we have grown to be like sisters.
What a neat giveaway and idea to recognize a true friend.
My friend, Alice, was one of the first people I called when I found out my father had died VERY unexpectedly. Alice called me every day for, at least, 2 months to see if I needed anything and to make sure I wasn't just sitting at home. (my husband travels a lot and had a business trip just after my father's death) She had my mother and me over for dinner one night and my mother fell asleep on her couch. Alice didnt' care and was glad mother was able to relax. She was a true friend and I doubt I would have made it though this horrible time without her.
cute slippers! ok, here i go...
my girlfriend kristy is cute and wonderful and entirely too generous for her own good! we had been acquaintences for a long time and really hit it off sitting our sons soccer games year after year.
a few years ago we ended on the school's community council together and during a meeting that she was not able to attend, i volunteered her and i for what i thought would be a small project.
it ballooned into this GIANT nightmare fundraiser that made our husbands want to disown us! it took a ridiculous amount of time and i felt so baddly that i had volunteered her for this project that had taken over her life.
after i had pointed this amount a million times, she said to me, "this has been a great opportunity for me because not only did we raise a slew of money for our school, but a wonderful friendship was born!" i almost started to cry on the spot, she was right! and guess what? we're in charge of the same fundraiser THIS year! :) and i consider her one of my dearest friends.
help me say thanks to kristy with a darling pair of your monogrammed slippers! maybe if she gets a pair she will finally sit down and relax!
thanks kristi for all your fun give aways!
Cute stuff!
I would have to say that my mom is my best girlfriend~We always haven't seen eye to eye on a number of things, but we have grown closer over the past few years. She's always the one I call when something happens or I need some friend/mother advice.
I love ya mom!

Hi, I'm the "other half" of Nikki, who left a comment above. The fact that she thought of me and wanted to recognize our friendship like this says it all. We have known each other through playground squabbles, high school crushes, moves to different states, marriages, kids...She knows my deepest, darkest secrets and likes me anyway. It feels sometimes like we have spent our lifetime losing and finding each other again, and each time we refind each other, our friendship becomes even more precious. Like she said, we haven't seen each other for ten years this summer, and I miss her so much.
While I tend to live "in the clouds," Nikki has one foot firmly on the ground. In that respect, she has been a rock of strength and reason when I've turned to her for counsel and support. She loves me enough to tell the truth about situations, even when the truth is what I don't want to hear. There have been so many times when her saying, "This is not good for you," or, "I think you need to look at this differently," made a profound difference in the course of my life.
Growing up in Southern California, we didn't have too much need for slippers to keep our tootsies warm. Now that we both live in snowy states, it would mean a lot for us to share the little experience of bundling up, warming our toes, and thinking about each other as we go about our daily routines -- far away in person, but never far in our hearts.
My sister, Rebecca, is the best girlfriend anyone could ask for. A little over a year ago I wasn't feeling very good about my weight or myself. She suggested that I run and started running with me just about every day. I couldn't even run 2 miles when we started. With her dedication and encouragement I was able to run a little more and then a little more. We signed up for a half marathon as something to work towards. I was scared to run that far. Shortly after we signed up, I found out that I was expecting my second little girl. Now I was terrified. She encouraged me to continue running every day and always told me I could do it. Race day came and she stayed with me mile after mile all the while talking, having fun and making sure I was okay. After I had my baby, we started running again. We just ran the same race a couple weeks ago and I improved my time by 40 minutes! I am not a motivated person when it comes to getting out there and exercising, especially since we live in Arizona. I know that there is no way that I could have done this or even thought I could without her support and a huge amount of effort on her part. I feel proud of myself for what I have accomplished and I love her for pushing me to do it. I know she would love a pair of cute slippers to give her sore, tired, blistered feet a little TLC.
My friend Liz is the kind of friend that even though I have only known her a few year, it feels like I have known her forever. We met online on a fabric message board and when we started talking, we discovered that we are from the same hometown, attended the same university, studied fashion design and fashion merchandising and even belonged to the same sorority! We just never met because we are a few years apart in age. We became fast friends, and our daughters became friends. Recently, we went into business together and are working and creating together and Liz encourages me on a daily basis to become better - a better designer, more creative, and to think outside the box. Together we have formed, Sweet Funky Vintage (http://www.sweetfunkyvintage.com) and it is growing by leaps and bounds! I was designing and creating childrenswear before I met Liz, but together we are creating something fabulous - our dream business!
We both participated in pink christmas this past year and thank all of the sponsors - they were great!

My friend, Padma, is amazing. We are completely different in background, yet connect in every way that has meaning. She was born in India, me in the US. She is Hindu, me a follower of Christ. This has added tremendous depth to our wonderful friendship.
Padma is kind, completely selfless and very, very fun. When we adopted our daughter from India, there wasn't anything that she did not do to help us - from showing up at our door the night before our trip to India with mosquito repellant (just in case) and some Indian rupees (again, just in case). She steps right in and helps when she knows I am overwhelmed. She nurtures my spirit, allows me to be real and genuine and takes me 100% as I am. Padma always is reluctant to splurge on herself. (Bargain hunting and tip sharing is another joy we share.) It would be wonderful to treat her with such a luxe gift. She is such a blessing!
