I had such good intentions to get my SPT done on Tuesday - but again am coming in late. Usually I can get it in by Thursday so the T still has meaning, but today I must change it to an F -for Friday.

I had the perfect photo that I had taken last Saturday even without knowing what the theme for the week was. (one would think I could have got it done on time)

This week was:
Your feet will bring you to where your heart is

Last Saturday I went for one of my first runs since the end of January. I did not run one day in February. I have been feeling pretty horrible physically which then does a number on me emotionally. Then when I don't exercise the spiral downward begins. I am now convinced I must look pregnant, because I feel pregnant - BUT AM NOT (so don't ask!). My lack of exercise and fondness for the Easter Candy has changed my physical appearance a bit. So my heart is kind of hurting. When I feel good about myself I can seriously accomplish miracles and do anything, when I don't it is a rough road. (again why my word of the year is PACE - to keep me out of the extremes and just pace myself through this year) I wrote that I think I owned 2007, well I could dare say that 2008 totally owns me right now.

Last week I was trying to really study more out of the Book of Mormon, which is another testament of Jesus Christ and His visit to the American continent. It has been the one book in my life that has caused me to change my life. I know when I read it, my life falls into better perspective, I am more grateful, I value myself more, I love my husband more, I love my kids more, I feel motivated to make positive changes in my life. It is just an all around good choice when I take the time to really read it.

On Saturday I finally got the courage to go out and run my 5 mile loop which had not seen me for awhile. I was about a mile into it and as I was running up through the part called Turtle Pond I could feel someone coming behind me. There is no driving access to where I was so I knew it had to be someone on foot and not by car. I couldn't hear anything as I was rockin out to "get your head in the game" But you know when you can feel someone coming behind you. Then all of a sudden

two missionaries from my church go running by and don't stop to look back and pretending they were jogging. I folded over laughing so hard! They had seen me from the main road and went and parked their car down some side street and ran .25 mile to catch up to me. Right before they left their car one of them said, "What if that was not her?" So he decided to grab a Book of Mormon just in case it was not me so they would have something to give to the lady they were chasing down running. It was a fun break to sit and talk to two of the greatest missionaries in our mission. They are both going home soon (missions are 2 years for young men) and just really awesome. One is from Utah and the other from California. (I made them reenact their run by and I was glad I had Jeff's camera phone with me)
Before they left the California Elder said, "we are giving you the Book of Mormon anyway and maybe you will find someone on the way that might want to read it." I started laughing - I still had 4 more miles to go and didn't know how I felt about running with a book the entire time. But he was serious and gave me the book.

I then stopped to take this photo. I am sure you can see now why Lelly's challenge seemed much more than a coincidence to me. Because on this Saturday my feet lead me right to where my heart is. I ended up running with the book the entire time and knew exactly why the missionaries gave it to me - to remind me that I love this book and should be thrilled and happy to give it to anyone I know and love.

Thanks again Lelly you always bring out the best in me.

Have you read this book?
If not let me know and I will send you one - it will be good mail for sure!

That is the best SPF yet! I love it & enjoyed reading it. How very fun of the missionaries, they sound like great Elders.
I love the pictures. You should send that story to their parents, I'm sure they'd get a kick out of it & be so proud to know how great their boys where.
Even though it's Friday - Wonderful SPT & well worth the wait!

I always get so emotional when I read your posts...maybe because they echo my sentiments, but I can't put my thoughts into words as eloquently as you can...thanks for boosting my day...well worth waiting until Friday...although technically, if you go by my time, it is VERY early on Friday morning that you posted....

I've been having an AWESOME experience in the BOM lately too - especially with the help of my study guide/The Book of Mormon Made Easier by: Ridges that I mentioned to you before.

Happy Easter!!

Oh my gosh, you must have been thrilled when you saw Lelly's assignment for the week. This is such a cool story and I love it that you ran the rest of the way while holding The Book of Mormon. Wow.

You know I've read this book, and have been doing so daily and yearly for the past 3 years and it has definitely made a difference in me.

Love it! I hope you are able to send that good mail out, I have no doubt that you will find some out to give that book to. You are a true missionary.

I ran my first real run today since my race in Jan. It felt good, though I SWORE I wouldn't let myself be starting from scratch, and here I am. We will chalk this up to the flu season sabbatical of winter '08!

Good for us both!

This made me giggle inside. Those missionaries are hilarious to run after you! How UNCANNY that you took that photo before SPT. Love it, love it, love it!

I read it completely in 2005 and I'm doing at again this year as I'm the Gospel Doctrine teacher. I am learning so much from it every week! The people are so real to me now, more than they ever have been. I hope you can send it to someone whose heart will be touched.

What a cool experience. I love that they let you stage the photo- that they gave you the book to carry with you on the rest of your run. That is just cool.

"When I feel good about myself I can seriously accomplish miracles and do anything, when I don't it is a rough road."- That jumped at me! You put it so perfectly. I have been training for the salt lake 1/2 and got to a point where I wasn't sure if I could do it- self doubt and all because I wasn't where I thought I should be training wise. But the more I pace myself, the better I feel in my head and now I am back on track- in so many areas of my life. I love how it seems to overflow. Congrats on your first run in March!
