Guest Speaker

Tonight for family home evening we had a guest speaker. hee hee.
We are teaching our littles on everything Italy for our trip this summer. Tonight we watched a spot on Venice. The little girls kept saying "we have been there" when they would show highlights of the inside of churches. The seem to remember last summer more than we imagined they would.
Caroline asked if they have sharks in the water where the boats are and informed us she does not want to go back on the airplane with no windows. (you and me both girlfriend!)
Sally Jane said she wants some of the crab they showed at the restaurant.
And we learned a Lion with wings is the mascot of Venice.
Also today "Wonder Pet's" show was in Venice perfect lead in to tonight. I was able to buy the episode off of itunes so the girls can watch it over and over. So when we ride the gondola they can say "hey this is where ming ming was"
So thanks Rick Steves for coming to family home evening and getting us excited for our trip.

Thanks to everyone who has been sending me Italy tips. Cinque Terre was at the top of our list and after every one's recommendations it will for sure stay there. We are staying at military bases all through out our trip which such a blessing and so cost effective.

I'm definitely looking forward to hearing about your Italy trip. It is the Space A trip we wanted to take last summer, but then ended up attending some family weddings instead. Maybe next summer...and then we can use all your great ideas when we get to go. :)

I went to Italy last October and it was the trip of dreams. Our day in the Cinque Terre was my favorite day of 2007! Your girls are the luckiest! I hope they like pizza.

How fun! I can't wait for all the pics from your trip. I should just call myself a pic junkie, because I just love taking pictures and looking at friend's pictures.
Your girls are so lucky to have you as their Mom!

We watched those Rick Steve movies about Italy when we were planning to go there for our 10th anniv. Sadly we ended up going somewhere closer...Cancun, but I am really wanting to go there. Ben says we will have enough frequent fliers to go next summer (the entire family) but I am thinking I don't know if I could handle Europe with Jared in the stage he is in right now. But who knows maybe when he is almost 4 life will be better. Have fun planning your trip!

Exciting. I've never been to Italy, but I love listening to the language - and, of course, Italian footballers are absolute Adonises. How do you spell the plural of Adonis???

Look at YouTube for clips of Francesco da Mosto. He did a fantastic BBC series on Venice. He has an adorable Italian accent too, and quite cute for a grey-haired man!
