We are home and SAFE!

After an exhausting day of traveling, 26 straight hours to be exact. We made it home - safe!
We flew home on a C-5 that had no cargo and 75 seats up above. We got to load in from the bottom of the plane which was so cool. There were a total of 8 of us flying (5 being our family) It was amazing. We all had our own bed, plenty of room to run around, which the kids did plenty of and with it being so loud on the plane the other 3 people never heard a peep out of the kids. Jeff and I devoured our books: Eclipse and Breaking Dawn.

We drove to our front door at 2:00 am to Jeff singing and dancing to the 80's on the radio. I failed my duty of keeping him awake at the wheel as I fell asleep on the beltway. We were so tired I tried to convince him to get a hotel in Baltimore only 45 minutes from our house.

We slept. Then woke up at 2:00 pm and made it to church by 2:15. (That's what you get for teaching your kids it is important to go to church, AK would not let us miss)

All day yesterday we had the jet lag headache. Barely brought in our luggage out of the car. Said good night to it at 7:00 pm still completely packed sitting in the family room.

Ahh back to reality!

Welcome Home Kristi! I can't wait to read more about your trip. Your flights sound amazing. What a treat to fly with three kids and have the freedom to make noise and move around.

Good luck recovering from your jet lag.

Flying the way you guys do sounds like such a blessing with kids! If only you were allowed to take pictures of it so that we could see it for real.

I had a hard time recovering from my jet lag after Paris, so I really don't know how you manage it with 3 grumpy girls too. Hopefully you can lock all the doors and just sleep.

Welcome home! I can't believe you made it to church! No good deed goes unpunished I guess! That's what you get for being a good example!

I can't believe you are reading those books, I will be interested to hear what you guys think about them when you are done. They are addictive, aren't they?

How cool is it that you had beds on the plane?? And that you and Jeff could read! That sounds like a great way to go.

I am very familiar with that trans-continental travel with kids variety of tired. Oh so tired, like none other. Good luck resting up and recovering!

Welcome Home! That is such a unique way to travel. Kids running around the plane, reading books, too noisy to bother others....Perfect!

I hope you're still napping to get rid of that jet lag. Can't wait to hear and see more of what you did.

The Twilight books are excellent plane material! And beds on planes sounds marvelous.
