Poor Annie Kate who has to put up with my creative/crazy mind sometimes. I woke up this morning and came up with the idea to email this letter to her 4th grade teacher.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Dear Mrs. S,
Last night we had some issues with Annie Kate of teasing her sisters, not doing her homework and just normal kid not listening to their parents stuff. The only way we felt we could get her attention was to give her a punishment that she would feel longer than that night.
Jeff and I have both told her that due to her actions she is not allowed to talk for the entire day. We realize that this may be difficult as her teacher to work with her today, but feel that she needs to know we are serious about respecting us and her sisters.
She knows that she will not be allowed to speak but can nod her head.
Thank you for supporting us in this matter. She is bringing a letter from the both us to better explain the details of last night and what pushed us to this decision.
Feel free to call me if you would like to talk about it.
thank you again for all that you do.
Jeff and Kristi

I sent Annie Kate in with an envelope that has a white sheet of paper that says "APRIL FOOLS!" She is to hand it to Mrs. S when she walks in the room.

Annie Kate just walked out the door to school and I just got this email back from her teacher.

Dear Kristi.

Thank you for informing me about this. I will do what I can to support you. I think Annie Kate is in for a rough day.

I will try to give you a call this evening.

Mrs. S.

Oh my it is the beginning of a fun day of fooling the ones I love the most!!

I couldn't think of anything clever this morning...can't spring on a move (they might belive that..) can't spring on having our dog live somewhere else (they might believe that too!) - hmmm, this would have been a good one!
Can't wait to see what else you did...

Oh you are terrible!!! I can't wait to hear what the teacher said when she got the envelope!!

I pulled some of the tricks that were in the latest Family Fun mag on my kids. Can't wait to hear about what they think. I switched the contents of their snack bags (girl scout cookies for cheese its, that should be a real surprise!!) and then used scrapbooking adhesive to glue it closed. I also made some jello, I mean juice for them to drink when they get home from school. Love it!

So funny! What I love is that your daughter will go along with this! Mine doesn't go for funny/silly things b/c she is too embarrassed! Don't know how she came from me!

We did this last year. My daughter's teacher loved it. She was so concerned that she alerted the principal, who luckily was in on the joke, and was truely fooled! The whole school got a good laugh from your great idea! Thanks! You can read about our version here: http://foberts.blogspot.com/2010/04/april-fools-day.html
