I am home from our great Mother's Day weekend in Missouri. I was sad to not be with my kids for about the 5 minutes during church when all the other kids were singing to their moms and I knew my kids were back at home singing to an empty bench.
Then I went out for a Mother's Day brunch and saw all these darling ladies (grandmas) with corsages on so proud to be honored by the man at the hotel playing on his cheesy keyboard, took a long nap and got taken out to dinner with some old friends from Nashville and then I was not so sad anymore.

I have been running crazy since I got back. I can't believe it is Friday. I have 2 hours and counting to get my backpack packed for our youth camp out tonight on the Potomac River! Yes the Potomac (civil war stories racing through my head right now)

I am excited mainly because the kids have been in charge of planning it all. I love seeing the youth feel responsible. My group is the "build & strike" group. We organize the set up and take down. Of course I am out trying to make our group all bonded and unified so I made them all hats this afternoon. (You can make some too with these instructions - they are fast and CHEAP!)

so off to pack my backpack.

Michelle tells me that you never have time to read blogs, but I thought of your blog when I did a post all about the color pink today.

I love the hats! It would be kind of strange to be away from home for Mother's Day, but also delightful to not have any responsibilities at all...
