swim meet tonight

A summer of nevermores!

Recently one of the moms of the seniors in my Young Women's group told me she made a list of her "Never Mores". It was her last child to graduate and she realized she was doing many things for the very last time.
As the month of June rolled in I started to realize that we were doing many things for the last time in our neighborhood and the place we call home. For some reason my mind blocked out blogging. It was as if I was not going to write about it, then I could keep the end from coming.
Even though we are a year away from moving we are in the immediate decision of where to move. We don't go a day without out talking about this decision. My head seriously hurts.

What makes this hard is that I still have to live in the now even though I am planning many things for a year from now. I still want to put 100% in to my church family, neighborhood family, family family - but also feel pulled to think ahead. I don't talk about it much here because I don't want anyone to think I am trying to get out of here or to make it look like I don't love where I am. Because I love where I am!

Swim season is in full swing. Annie Kate has rocked her breast stroke and is just a hair off of beating the team record and already qualified for All Stars on the first meet. Caroline is taking it slow- she finally swam a lap tonight in the backstroke as she chose to get off the blocks in her last 3 events at the last minute. It is good for my Brave Caroline to sometimes feel not so brave.

My camera has been on the brinks since April and I get it back next Monday so I hope having my camera back will get me back to my blog.

Hooray for the swim team!

I can't imagine you Not putting 100% into everything you do :)
how lucky for someone out there to have you for a neighbor a year from now. Your friends & neighbors now will miss you!

Oh Kristi I have missed you!

Good to be busy with the swim team. I am just hoping that Ian will blow bubbles in the water when lessons start next week! Congrats to Caroline for swimming a lap!

I remember when we were moving and knowing for months that it was going to happen...it was so hard. You will just love where you live and then move on to your next adventure.

summer swim team are some of my best childhood memories. congratulations to both girls for such big accomplishments.

it's so hard to "be" in two places at once. i'm SURE your neighbors now will be miss you like crazy and your neighbors to be don't even know how lucky they are!

won't you be my neighbor?

hey - I think I picked up your blog from Tip Junkie and have been a fan since. I have always liked to hang out on everyone elses blog but just started one of my own.
Scary!
anyways. we had our monthly bible study last night and we studied the book of James which I felt nudged to share with you.
James 4: 13-15
13Now listen, you who say, "Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money." 14Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are like the morning fog that appears for a little while and then vanishes. 15Instead, you ought to say, "If it is the Lord's will, we will live and do this or that."

In this life we are such planners which only God knows what our tommorrow holds. Live for today and pray for the Lord's will for tomorrow. I love what the Bible says in Matt 6:25-34- beautiful, a breath of fresh air

hope this gives you a sigh of relief- I am not sure where you live now but we would certainly welcome you down south

I think that you will find the best no matter where you land. That makes life fun. You have certainly had a great time in your little area - what a great experience for your girls to do the swim team. I hope that you will be directed to a place that offer you the best as well. Although, I think you could just create it if it wasn't there...

Moving forward in life is often hard - I venture to think your last year of living there will be amazing... enjoy

I hope you have a great summer of "never mores" in DC, but remember you can always go back to visit. And then of course you get to create new things in your new place of home!

Oh, the Never Mores are so bittersweet! Just last Sunday I realized during the sacrament that it was Max's last Sunday as a Deacon -- ouch!

I can only see you doing everything 100% and I wish you the best in making this big decision for your family. I am confident that this last year in D.C. will be lived to the fullest!
