Everyone in my house is always looking for a pencil. To find one is a true find, but to find one that is sharpened is a as rare as Charlie finding a Golden Ticket.
When I found these Pink and Green pencils in the Dollar section at the craft store I knew I could solve 2 problems. One, fill the corner of my desk and two make homework a whole lot easier.
I bought 70 pencils and came home and sharpened them all.

When my brother was little, around 1st grade, he took all the pencils in the house (including the ones in our backpacks) sharpened them and "set up shop." We had to PAY for a pencil! If we left our homework, he would take our pencils and make us "re-pay." He ended up making $35 off of all 7 of us by the time the BBB (eg MOM) shut his business down!

What a great idea...I could only wish to have a dollar store...

i have done the same thing. I even burned up my pencil sharpener trying to sharpen so many pencils at one time, and had to go buy a new one!

This is a 'chore' for one of my littles. Make sure we have pencils and they are sharpened. Nothing is more frustrating when you are doing homework to not have a pencil or it isn't sharpened.

Great looking pencils!

We have the same struggles to find sharpened pencils here...now that we have a puppy she seems to "find" any that drop so it leaves even less for them to use ;)

You are so funny! I get tired pf that too. We bought an electic pencil sharpener and about 100 pencils when school started....want to know how many are left? Let's just say I had to buy more after Christmas. Where do they all go?

you should keep track of how long it takes until they all disappear!

That is so funny! We had the same problem and I just went to Target last week and stocked up on pencils and got a new pencil holder. My pencils are not as cute as yours though.

Any suggestions on a good pencil sharpener? My $1-$5 ones are a pain to work with.

I've done the same thing. But, like any good pens I buy, the pencils all start to disappear! I guess it's an ongoing project.

The pencils like to run off with the dryer socks.

This is why I love your blog, you are so "relate-able" to the everyday things. Happy to see your blog again!

Here is what works for me. I have a homework station. It has tons of pencils, erasers, glue sticks, colored pencils, scissors, markers, you name it. I have it all in an old Pampered Chef utensil holder. It makes finding supplies for homework and projects a breeze.
