book group... not mine. today
Annie Kate went to a all boy's book group. It is not meant to be all boys, it just is. They are reading the Capital Mysteries and then taking a trip downtown to see what they read about. They played a Jeopardy game with trivia about the city as well as the book. She had a blast and this reading thing may just catch on.
That Annie Kate sure is busy!! Sounds like fun. Glad she could represent the ladies ;)
ReplyDeletedang I wished we needed to move to DC My dd needs a good friend like Annie Kate!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun book club--field trips and games--what's the age limit? Hee Hee!
ReplyDeleteGlad her interest is blossoming.
Way cool! I have toyed with the idea of starting a book group for my daughter and her friends who are going into 2nd grade.
ReplyDeleteOh how fun. My Luci would just love that. She has read 150 + books already this summer by herself.
ReplyDeleteWay to get her going and involved! I bet she catches the fever in no time!

I think all it takes is for the right subject matter to light that little spark to create a lifelong reader! Sounds like such a fun book group.
ReplyDeleteMy daughter loved those Ron Roy books! It's too bad we're not closer to D.C. for her to see all those places he uses in his books. Maybe someday . . .
ReplyDeleteHow great that they follow up their books with feild trips!
ReplyDeleteHow much would I have loved going to PEI after reading Anne of Green Gables?!
I wish we had some sort of a book club her for my DD, she loves to read. Maybe we will have to start our own:)
ReplyDeleteThat is a beautiful sight!
ReplyDeleteThis is such a cool idea- I totally love it!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea. Who could resist reading a book with a related field trip afterwards for a reward?? Great photo.
ReplyDeleteI love that idea of a kids book club! maybe that would be encouragement for my kids.. how fun for her!
ReplyDeleteWe LOVE Ron Roy mysteries!!! The Capital series are so much fun! What a book group!
ReplyDeleteVery fun! Our library is having a book club for 2nd graders, but Lindsey didn't want to do it. She is an avid reader though. I am glad Annie Kate has found something to spark her reading interest!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the reminder about this book series. Great idea--- book groups for kids.
ReplyDeleteHurrah for BOYS reading!!!
ReplyDeleteI hope AK gets a lot from this. Not just the reading, but from how carefully the book seems to have been chosen so that a field trip can be tied in with it. It will make so much more of an impact on them if there are extra bits to really make literature 'come alive' for them.
how awesome to have a book group for kids! maybe i would've gotten into reading a little earlier in life!
