A new kind of Mother's Day

Sally Jane does not look so excited to take our annual Mother's Day photo, but none the less we took it.

Sunday was just a great new kind of Mother's Day.  It was Jeff's first day as Bishop of our church congregation. He conducted the meeting and even had time after the speakers to share a few thoughts.  It was quite touching.
I was thrilled to get this photo of him and I (even though Annie Kate had it on super zoom) since we did not get one the week before.
I guess his gray hair can't get any grayer, so I wonder how different we will look in 5 years.

What I loved about this Mother's Day was that it was the first time I didn't care about me.  I was thrilled to be Jeff's biggest fan and welcome some families in our home for dinner.

One of the young men came over after dinner and gave me a long stem red rose, to wish me Happy Mother's day.  Now if that does not melt your heart, I don't what does.

  3. We celebrated Mother's Day by having three of our four kids with temperatures of 103. Regardless, being a mother is the BEST thing ever to happen to me and I love that I can celebrate being a mother--the good, bad and ugly.

  4. Beautiful pictures, Kristi. We need to establish this tradition.

I too wonder how changed you will all be in 5 years - for the better, no doubt.

I love the thought of you being Jeff's biggest fan. We all need one of those!
