my fiRst jOb.
I had been saving this photo to put on Easter weekend and forgot. This is a picture of me in 1984 in Las Cruces, NM with my first job as the mall Easter bunny. This was the day the Easter bunny came to the mall in a big flat bed truck that drove through the parking lot and then I got out and went and sat in the big wicker chair talking to the kids. There was a glass ceiling above where the bunny sat so the sun hit me the whole time. It was so hot. Minimum wage was $3.35 an hour! This picture looks so vintage!
What was your first job?

Cleaning my dad's office. I got paid 3.00. The best part was, my sister and brother were also supposed to clean, but they had sports after school. Since I was a choir nerd and had no such activities, I did all the cleaning and all three of us got paid. Can you tell that I am still bitter? I am, just a tad...

You were a little young for that job weren't you? How did you end up working there when you were only 13?

My first job, other than babysitting a ton, was working at my dad's clothing store as a 14/15 year old. I stocked merchandise, tagged it, rang up sales, and cleaned. It was a big job really.

Oh my gosh that picture is such a classic. Luke loves looking at it, he goes hey look its the Easter Bunny!! I can't believe that was your first job, were you so excited to work at the mall? My first job was at a little food chain called Boston Market. I got paid $4.15 an hour. It was the first time I was offered drugs and alchol. (from my boss!!) OH THE MEMORIES!!!
