gOod mAil.
My friend jill has invented something called good mail. "WHAT?" you say. how could someone have invented good mail? Well, she has invented the art of good mail. She has a photo gallery of all the good mail she gets. So I finally had to copy her and do the same. ( i have just barely started it so don't be offended if you don't see something that you have sent me, it will come) She motivates me to want to send out good mail. Because of email and cheaper calling plans, good mail is harder to come by. I actually sent her something creative in the mail a few weeks ago just because i wanted to make her photo gallery. (of course I didn't put enough postage on it and it is lost and she didn't get it) She has invited anyone who reads her blog to email her your address and she will put you on the good mail list with the chance of getting some good mail. I just think she has started something amazing!
today i got this in the mail from michelle. (my freshman roomate). I was complaining about I don't really have a bookmark so she sent me one with a book to read, The Persian Pickle Club, as well as a very cool card with a list of good books to read. What michelle doesn't know is, that I used to own this book and had read it when i lived in New Orleans and was doing a lot of quilting. I loaned the book out to someone and have not ever gotten it back. Just two days ago when i had nothing to read, i was searching all over my house and then remembered that i had loaned it out. I was so sad. So Michelle, a HUGE thank you on many levels.

{How often do you send something in the mail that will make the receipient giddy when then open their box? once a week, once a month, 6 times a year, once a year}

That bookmark is painfully cute, and that book is such a good one. I love seeing the good mail everyone gets.

I forgot to answer your question. I try to send something at least once a week but usually it ends up being several times a month. I consider cards good mail, so it's not always gifts I'm sending.

usually just birthdays, but for me I think that is good since most people don't usually remember since we are all getting old and all.

So cute! I am just catching the good mail fever, and have officially sent off 4 things of good mail. But I am lining up other things, just have to get cracking!

bummer! I'm sad that you have already read that book, but glad that you now have a copy of it. Also, I discovered that one of the fibers that I tied on the bookmark fell off and got stuck in my scanner. :(

I used to send good mail several times a year but now I'm trying to do it every couple weeks or so because of Jill's good example.

I think that Jill has set a good example for us all or she's given us all the fever. I'm trying to send out good mail once a month, I used to send it out 2-3 times a year.
