Happy Birthday America!

Our family got the best 4th of July present ever. A huge package from my friend Emily (Davis) G. I was in shock. Who in the world sends 4th of July packages! It was jammed packed with books for the girls. Bags of treats that all had meanings and instructions, websites of things to do with our family. The Zoo, picking peaches, museums. She also knew it was hard for us to leave our backyard so she gave us chalk to draw flowers in our backyard and a bugbox to catch the D.C. fireflies.
She grew up here so she gave us the inside scoop!
Emily, Thank you so much. it meant so much to me and my girls (jeff was even a little teary.. ha!) And gave us so much to look forward to doing in this town. I can't even imagine how long it must have took you to type up all the information, tie all the ribbons, print all the cute cards etc.
Thanks! We used one of the books yesterday to find out information to the Air and space musem that we went to yesterday.
Happy 4th Emily and to everyone!

Fun package! I'm glad you have such good friends to see you through your tough transition. I was thinking this morning about Patriotic experiences I've had and the most memorable has to be the Memorial Day Jeremy and I spent in Washington DC. We were at Arlington National Cemetary the day before when the Mariens were putting flags on the graves. We didn't get to see the cemetary completely finished, what we did see was a site! But, that may be a post, so I'll stop there. Happy Independence Day!

That is a great package! I love that our old friends still think so much of each other. I hope the transition of the move is coming along. What a hard thing to do-I know. It must help to know so many people are thinking of you and sending you good and happy thoughts-not to mention sweet and thoughtful packages to ease the difficulty!

Fabulous! How cool that Emily could draw on her experiences of the area to help your family make the transition. How cool to hear about Emily again! Where is she now?
