Love that library
I have fallen in love with the library. Not the building itself, (the one by our house is kind of old and small) but the whole concept. I often fill my 50 book limit. I love going in the library and finding a subject I like and then pulling about 10 books in that area. Last night I was in a civil war/ craft mood. Funny combo huh.
Here is what I picked up last night after leaving the BORING PTA meeting early.
I wish I had been taking photos of my stash more often because I think is so represents what I am interested in at the time. So of course I started a smugmug gallery to journal what I check out.

I keep the large stack by my bed and flip through them while the girls are in the bath, while eating breakfast or when I just have a minute. I never read them all cover to cover but love to flip through them. Last night I read the incredible story of Abraham Lincoln (my favorite president in case you are curious) and the dream he had that he would be murdered. His whole presidency he always felt he would be killed.

So, two questions?
Do you love and take full advantage of your library?
and if you don't use Smugmug tell me why not.?
(Jill and I were just saying the other day how can bloggers not use smugmug)

I love it that you're utilizing your library to the max by checking out so many books. It's such a great way to expose yourself to new things and to educate yourself in your many areas of interest. I love the idea of keeping track of the books you check out. I LOVE LOVE LOVE smugmug and wish everyone had their own accounts.

LOVE IT! Miriam and I go every week. Does your library do a storytime? It's a great way to find out about cute children's books.

Well, My dad took Evie to the library when he was here after my surgery. They checked out books and I didn't know it until the overdue notice came in the mail...

We went to the library yesterday for a nice free activity, plus the 18.75 fine!!!!!

Otherwise, yes, I love the library!

Oh, I have a smugmug account, but I haven't filled it with my pictures yet.

Guess what my day job is? Elementary librarian!! So, the answer to that question is yes I love the library and I visit it daily HA! HA! But, personally I also am obsessed with it. Where else can you find so much info for free. UNless you are like Tasha and owe $18 in fines. Girl, our overdue charges are $.10 a day so you had to have racked up lots of late days!!
I don't have a smugmug account so sell me too. What is so great about it! Fill us non-believers in :o)

I LOVE MY LIBRARY! I'm such a book nerd. That's the one thing this city has going for it is a great library system. Luckily there is not a limit to how many books you can check out. Currently, between Ellie and I, we have over 100 checked out right now. Our library also has "Theme Boxes" for children that have 8 or 9 books, a music CD, puppets or other activity on various topics like Animals, Senses, Weather, Families, etc. We have lots of fun with them. (Kind of a preschool in a box) Ask at your libraries because they don't really advertise that they have them.

I haven't been sold on smugmug yet either. I feel I should get an account so I don't have to upload every picture on my post. I'm sure it gets old going to my blog and seeing 10 pics of every event.

I haven't been to the library in a while. I do like your idea of just flipping through the books instead of trying to read cover to cover.

I must admit I don't know about smugmug either. I have picasa, and thats so,so. I would try it out though if it were worth it.

I love the library! I don't go as often as I should! I like your idea of keeping track of the books that interest you. Just from the title, Hip Handbags, I want to see if it is available here:)

I have been considering getting a smugmug account too. Just haven't gotten around to researching it a little more.

I totally love the library and so do my kids. What a great idea to have a smugmug gallery of what you check out! Do you ever get a break in-between all of your great ideas??

That is some stack of books--how do you carry that haul out of there? I love the library but need to go WITHOUT my kiddos to get my own books. By the time we get theirs I am DONE! $18.75? Holy @#!*

Good for you making such good use of the library. I can honestly say I haven't checked a book out of the library in over ten years... not since college. It would definitely save me lots of $$ to not be buying books all the time.

I haven't gotten a smugmug account yet. I had actually never heard of it until you. Imagine that?! It does look like a great way for me to share/post my photos.

this is the other joy of the library that i forgot to write about.
i will sit on the computer and do my searching and then they pull all the books for me and have them at the front desk ready to go. i love it.

next time i do need to bring a bag. i am always quite a sight. one time i had to make three trips to the car

I LOVE the library too! We've been twice this week already! My sister's library delivers!! How cool is that??? I want delivery, because I can never carry J and all the books I want plus the books the girls want! I look like I could fall over from all that weight! I'm with Amy though, I too need to go by myself to get books for me.

we go every week. I couldn't make it without my bag-either. I also use the search and hold on the computer then they are waiting for me to pick up. We have an amazing video section/dvd, I can't tell you the last time we rented a dvd at a video store (it's probably been over a year) because they are FREE at the library. Love the library. My smugmug account on the otherhand is at a standstill, just because I can't deal with the downloads on this slow dial up computer! Otherwise it seems great.

Kristi, I'm shocked you don't have the world's cutest monogrammed library tote. What's up with that??

You are a genious. I don't know why I hadn't thought about going to the library to check out books to read. I think always seem to think that I need to go and buy the books. Partly because someday I want to have a whole wall in my house from floor to ceiling covered with books. It would cost a lot less if I would just check them out.

That is just a whole stack of happieness right there. I can't believe you check out so many books form the library. If I did that at the Lehi library it would't take me very long to check out every book they have. It's a small library! Way to go.

i'm not using smugmug to it's fullest potential...don't know why.

I just found your blog, which I am digging in a big way. Especially this idea to photograph library books! In answer to your question: YES, we are known at our library. We are there at least once a week; I rarely buy books, because we can get anything (almost) through an InterLibrary Loan. I so fully utilized the library where we just moved from, that I haven't yet been able to embrace the library in our new town that offers fewer services with much more paperwork (instead of more on-line features). Ah, well. (Not surprising, perhaps, in my former life I was a teacher and reading specialist to the K-2 crowd, and miss it so, so much).
