Grandparents
On this grandparents Day, I thought it would be great to share with you a quote we have framed in our home. It is from my husbands, great, great grandfather (I think, Sharon tell me if I am wrong) Raymond Cutler. I found it handwritten in a copy we have of his journal. It was one of the last entries before he died. I love it.

"If there is any particular advice or admonition I wish to leave it is that I hope my posterity will cleave to the church and its auxiliary organizations and love the value and happiness that comes from service to God and one's fellow men."
Raymond Cutler
journal entry January 15, 1931

happy Grandparents day, Grandpy, Mimi, Papa & Grammy we love you! The above photo is of my Nona (my dad's mom)

What a great piece of advice to leave to his posterity. While we were in Idaho visiting Ben's grandparents, we were looking at a journal of his great-grandfather's (I believe) and one of the entries started out like this: "today I am mad!" It was all about how the seed potatoes were bad and the weather was horrible or something to that effect. I thought it was great that he had written that down. It certainly made me feel better about having bad days and being mad! :)

What a great journal entry, it's so cool that you have that. I'd like to see a picture of the framed quote just to see how you did it.

I didn't even know that it was grandparents' day until I saw it on the Today Show. How sad is that!

Beautiful quote and picture.

What a great quote, Kristi! I am such a fan of framing things like that. I have my favorite recipe from my grandma framed in my kitchen - her red velvet cake recipe in her beautiful handwriting. I think of her every time I see it, and it's nice to have a little reminder of her in a room I spend so much time in!
