Mimi and Grandpy's basement
This photo is a cinderblock room in my parents basement that is full of toys for the grandkids. The wall to get in this room is a blank, white wall where anyone who visits can measure their height. It is full of the grandkids names and dates, each time they come to visit. We even measured Elle (8 weeks) this weekend. Then Spencer, Ryan and I measured ourselves! I am laughing right now thinking about it (were we on laughing gas on Sunday night or what?)
I love going in homes that have walls where they measure their kids. If you are not doing that now in your home find a place and start, you can always paint over it.

Emily and Holly I love being your parents kitchen with their many markings!

My mom has a wall in her house that has the marks on it of all 7 kids growth rates.

We all love to look at that wall everytime we go home to visit.

My parents had a wall with our heights on it for 25 years. When they remolded their kitchen my mom quickly stopped the construction workers and saved the whole wall- she just couldn't see it blasted down. Now she has a chunk of wall down in her basement that she's still trying to figure out what to do with. I'm so glad she kept it.

It's great when grandparents have a space full of fun stuff for the grandkids. Marking the wall with the kids' heighths is a great idea.

I wrote my post and then read the rest...Looks like Mindy and my parent's had the same idea...

When I was growing up we measured our height in the entryway into our kitchen. When my parents remodeled and added onto their house several years ago that entryway was to be torn down. My dad cut off that wall and it's now somewhere in our basement (at least I think he still has it).
