Good Mail
We came home to fun mail. I got my magic cabin dolls, Lands End, and Land of Nod catalog, which are always a treat.
I got the invitation to our Visiting Teaching conference this month. They are darling invitations. The theme is about learning to walk in someone elses shoes, thus the cute slippers.

I got these "secret" discs from Holly L. who is the sister of one of my college roommates. She great up in the area and so it has been fun to reaquaint with her when she comes home to visit. Holly is an amazing giver. The last time she was visiting we were having dinner and her cell phone rang, she said "I will be in the other room, one of my Young Women are on the phone" now that is someone who gives to their calling taking phone calls from her young woman on vacation and the fact that her girls know her well enough to be calling her. i love people who serve like that in their callings.I got these beads from China, Jeff was laughing so hard when he saw these. You have someone sending you stuff from CHINA! I won these off ebay for $.99 and just had to pay for shipping. I am having Dana from Charmed designs make this incredible bracelet and thought these would be great to add in. I forgot to take the photos of the beads. more to come. I don't know anything about the guy from China who sent them to me other than he is prompt, so i can't do much good mail bragging about him.

Tasha was soooooooo nice to send me these DoodleBug cards for Halloween. I love Halloween and love the darling Halloween shoe design. Thanks Tasha, Tasha is a great listener. I remember one time in med school I was crying on her green couch, just crying and crying. Even where there were breaks in my weeping she just let me weep and never felt like she needed to start talking. It was a great experience for me and I appreciated her advice and have never forgotten it. Good thing that happened years ago, because now it costs lots of money when your cry on the couch next to Tasha...

I don't usually post about Annie Kate's good mail but this was so incredible. She came home to a package from all the kids on her street. They had a get together to make her a package. They took photos of them making cards and playing. Then they took this photo of them each holding a sign saying, "We miss you Annie Kate !!" I was a crying mess. Annie Kate said, "I thought they forgot about me" which of course made me cry harder. Each card is so sweet and has lots of treasures on them. She is so excited to hang them up by her bed. We miss you Glastonbury gang. They were the best neighbors a gal could have. The all brought me dinner before Sally Jane was even born. They made this rotating system and had meals brought in the week before she was born, because I was NOT a happy camper. The helped raise my daughters and I am fortunate that they had incredible, strong Christian values. I love you guys and miss you so much and so do my kids... Jeff may even have water in his eyes too... He misses the 4 square with the dads.

What sweet mail. I remember before we left New Orleans (we had a play group) Jolene and Liz got together and made Jared and Sophie the cutiest going away bags. We still have them to this day. Something I will never forget!

That is so sweet. Where in Nashville did you live? Sounds like a one of a kind neighborhood--fabulous mail!

Nah, Kristi, you know I never charge friends...

I saw those cards and thought instantly of you! Wasn't it a bummer to not get any mail on Columbus day? I think the post office should make an exception for us!

Love your guts!

The stack of cataloges on my kitchen counter when I walked in from being gone a week was an exciting sight. I have rationed them for the past two nights, going through a few each night. I love looking at the new fall/winter decorations, clothes, etc. I think you were the one that gave me the catalog bug. I remember sitting on your couch with the phone as we called all the 1-800 numbers to get me on all the same mailing lists. Now YOU could also charge for your couch time!

How awesome of your neighbors. I guess you left a great impact on them, like they did you. Something you and Annie Kate can always remember.
