Bring on the Dentist.

It is lucky that all of us have cleanings next week because our teeth are going to need them. I can not believe how much candy we have in our house right now. One of the local dentists pays $1.00 per pound of candy, maybe I should go cash in today.

We had a great night. Our neighborhood is the dreamy Normal Rockwell scene for sure. I actually drove around the neighborhood yesterday and took photos of a bunch of the houses, because everyone goes all out.

In true holiday form in our house I got the too familiar phone call that Jeff was not going to make it. He was stuck in the operating room. So I moped around the house for a minute, went outside and chopped wood and then counted to 10 and then got over it. But right before we left we got the mail which had cute Halloween cards from Mimi. They had $5.00 in it. In true Caroline form she turned the money over and said, "Mom who is sitting in there {The Lincoln Memorial} is it George Washington... No... it is Lincoln!"
We had a Halloweenie Party with some neighbors cooking "weenies"/hotdogs and to take photos of the kids. The food was so yummy and warm. I took Michelle's yummy apple dip (it was oh so good) We took photos and then headed out for the goods.
This was really Caroline's year to get what was going on. She was so funny and just in heaven.


I took some photos of the kids actually trick-o-treating this year, which I have never done. I would love to have got more, but pushing the sleigh,(as my brother Adam would call it) helping Caroline keep up with the big kids and take photos... oh what a sight.

This was a house were this lady sat on her porch and told fortunes and read palms. She would say "Do you want to have your palms read?" and then put red paint on your hand. she was so cute and really made it fun for the kids.

I had to take a photo of this girl. When I was in first grade I was a die. It was the worst costume. Because at the school party I couldn't do anything because my arms were struck straight out. As much as I make fun of this costume I actually remember making it with my dad and my mom coming to the school to help me put it on.

Jeff met up with us before the little girls got pooped out. By this time Caroline was just getting wheeled from door to door like a true princess. I did feel so bad he missed the fun. It took him an hour to come home in traffic and he felt so bad that three of the residents missed Halloween with their family too. ( I love this coming out of the residency thing he shows signs of sensitivity all over the place)

I loved how a lot of our neighbors really dressed up. As for my costume, the fake eyelashes and light up necklace. I could not get the eyelashes on and the light up necklace did not light up! I have learned my lesson, no more costumes.

This is our neighbor Bob and is actually totally Incredible!


After the girls went to bed Annie Kate and I went to yet another party with some families at church. All the kids ran around in the basement while the parents recouped. We got on the subject of things to do in D.C. and someone said lets see if we can name a monument or Smithsonian that the Cutler's have not been to. I have to say I was proud that they could only name three places we had not been to yet.
As we were leaving Annie Kate said, "This is the best night ever!"

Jeff and I did get sad about our days on Glastonbury and thought of what everyone was doing. We miss our days in the garage eating soup while the kids come to trick or treat. Glastonbury Gang we love you and miss you so much!!

Annie Kate with her stash. By the time we got home from the party it was late and Jeff was asleep, so she didn't have to pay her regular "Dad Tax" (where Jeff takes his favorites and lets her have the rest)
She never eats her candy. Every year it sits around for a few days and then goes in the trash. I do have a friend who cans it in large cans for food storage. I may put it in the freezer this year.
