Christmas Pillows
I came up with this idea the other day to do "Naughty & Nice" pillowcases for the girls. They each sleep with a small travel size pillow that Shari O. gave them. It has a soft minky fabric on it except for during the holidays, when I make them holiday pillowcase.
I was determined to not go to the store and use what I had. Can you imagine my excitement when I rediscovered a bolt of lime green giraffe fur trim. (I had bought this years ago for $1.00 for the entire bolt of it) I found some of my $1.00 a yard red walmart fabric. I embroidered Naughty on one side and Nice on the other. With the thought being each night before Christmas they will sleep on the side that best represents how they were that day, and encouraging them that the night Santa comes that they will be sleeping on the Nice side. (this could freak them out making them think Santa will be sneaking in their bedrooms that night...oh the therapy my girls will have some day)
I was excited how they turned out and thrilled I could get them done during my sick week.

Sew cute! I am delurking to tell you that, because of one of your posts around Halloween time, I decided to stitch up some holiday pillowcases for our son's bed and for our bed. They give me such pleasure each night when I go to sleep!! And now, I fear, I must learn how to embroider!!

You give me so much inspiration every day, it has re-awakened the creative spirit in me. Thank you! Merry Christmas!

you could buy white pillowcases and iron on one side "Nice" and one side "naughty" and sew on some cute polkadot ribbon

These are adorable! The green giraffe trim is the perfect touch! How fun that you had that all on hand. And, I am also impressed that you made these while sick. I'm sorry the flu has been with you all week -- hope you feel better soon!
