My littlest brother, the Dad.
Just when I didn't think my life could get any better and then I have a terrific day like today. My youngest brother Adam and his wife came down from CT to see our family today. It was like a day out of dream. The weather was incredible, we felt hot in our lightweight jackets. Even though the monuments downtown don't change I never get tired of seeing them. One of the great things of today was I didn't worry about anything to do with Christmas. If I had been at home I would have been wrapping, sewing, trying to get my Christmas cards done, but instead I didn't have a care in the world.
We saw the Lincoln, Korean, WWII, Washington & Vietnam Memorial and even were able to eat at Ben's Chili Bowl.
All of us the WWII Memorial
Caroline has a childlike love the for the Washington Monument. She goes crazy when she sees it. As we got closer she just started running and ran right to it, touched it and then stood up against it with a smile from ear to ear. She kept posing for photos.
I could not believe how clear the day was.
Lisa's dad is a photographer and so I was so excited to have someone show me some tricks on my camera. He helped me with this shot of one of the 50 flags around the Washington Memorial.
I kept teasing Adam about his John Deere backpack that for some reason had the word North Face on it..
We took down the Marshmallow shooter that David and Lenessa gave us with a bag of bread and marshmallows and fed the birds. A bag of bread is a new must for any Lincoln memorial visit.
We made it to the "Bowl" it is such an awesome place thanks to Rachel Ray for the recommendation.
But the best part of my day was meeting little Ryan Paige. She is so beautiful. Those eyes! I just can't believe Adam is a Dad. It was wonderful to be able to meet her and I am so appreciative of all them coming down so we could.
We love you guys!

What fun photos! I love the one of Caroline at the Washington Monument, and your girls by the pool. I'm jealous of your sunny weather -- it's been a while!
I recently found out we are going to be in DC over the 4th of July. I'll have to get some ideas from you for good site seeing when it's not so crazy.
I'm glad you had such a nice carefree day. I went to help my sister with a project to get me out of my house and it was fun.
Merry Christmas!
Great photos Kristi! I'm so glad they drove down to see you guys, it looks like a perfect day for sight seeing. I'm impressed you weren't a wreck with Christmas planning.
Excellent photos as usual.
Merry Christmas! Good luck with last-minute preparations.
I just showed all the pictures to Amanda's family and they think Ryan Paige is soo cute. Also, we have voted, and The Photo of Caroline and Sally Jane looking at the Wash. Mon. is the best.
Totally awesome pictures, walking around the monuments and then hitting the chili bowl was made the perfect day! Watch for the slideshow that will soon be posted on my blog!!!
All of your post are just so good! How do you do it?!?!?

Merry Christmas!
my co-workers and I have been trying to make it to ben's chili bowl for MONTHS! I think it's official. You've experienced more of DC than I have! You're my hero!
That flag photo is amazing! I am impressed that you could take time out from Christmas prep to go sight-seeing and entertain. You are so together, girl.
