took me 12 years to finally do it!

In 1995 I was at the lake with two of my sister in laws. They both had a red tote bag from LL.Bean. It was huge! It was made of the heaviest canvas I had ever seen and held everything. At the time I had never heard of L.L. Bean but really loved their bags. I have wanted one ever since. This is so silly coming from me who has sewn more bags than I wish to count who could have made this. Guess it is good I waited back then they didn't have pink.
We recently went to the L.L. Bean store in Tysons Corner (huge mall in VA) and it was better than Disneyworld. (there was girl there getting 15 for bridesmaids gifts with their monogram... so cool!) What a great store with fish for the kids to watch. While I was there I decided to finally order myself one of these bags. I got the huge pink one with lime green monogram. I am so excited to use it this summer at the pool. These make great gifts and recently my friend gave one as a wedding gift full of board games. Who would not love that.

I love the tote bags by L.L. Bean and Lands End. here are a few great ones.
L.L. Bean Grosgrain Bag
This is new from L.L. Bean and you can customize the kid on the front. Great church bag

Lands End

I thought this was an easy brilliant idea to take your towel, sew a pocket on it and handles and then it's can be stuffed into it's self. If you don't want to make it you can get it from Lands End.

Diaper bag tote. The boys one is honestly cuter than the girls. Love the zip top!

Love this zebra print tote. comes in three colors.

i love LL Bean!! we took a family trip to California whan i was maybe about 9 years old. We had 6 LL Bean duffel bags, 3 red and 3 blue, sizes small, medium and large. Each member of the family got their own duffel (large for the parents, medium for the two "big girls" and small for the two "little girls." i can STILL see those duffels lined up on our dining room table getting stuffed with our clothes!!

You will love the bag, Kristi and you can NEVER wear them out. (And if you do they will replace it!)

In the spirit of your post, the new Pottery Barn Kids has a gorgeous chocolate brown diaper bag in it. I imagine it with a light blue or pink monogram...Very cute...

I agree; LL Bean bags are the best! I have a huge one with my monogram, and I keep thinking about getting a smaller one, too. You'll love yours!

I've got one of those huge LL Bean bags, and the only thing I wish was that it had a pocket. Love it though!

That's so funny that you posted about that because I was just sitting here a my desk looking a that catalog and trying to decide which one I wanted. So many cute choices!!

My sister got the chocolate Pottery Barn diaper bag for a baby shower present from her in-laws. I want it for myself and I don't even need a diaper bag any more (thank goodness).

Have a great weekend!

Kristi--I got some WONDERFUL ribbon in the mail today. Thank you, thank you. You are so generous and I can't wait to use them.

My camera is vacationing in Mexico, I'll send a picture of the marble game when it comes home.

Thanks again for the ribbon. I'm so glad you don't have a size 2 shoe.

Congrats on getting the bag! Its so fun to have "wish list" things like that and then get them!

I could have a bag for every day of the week. Its a problem...

How wonderful to get something you've been wanting for 12 years! The pink and green is so cute, and the monogram hmmm...if only you LOVED monograms! You'll be styling at the pool all summer.

I want that zebra print bag. That's the cutest thing I have ever seen. I think I'm just a sucker for animal prints! It was funny to read that you were at Tyson's Corner. I practically LIVE at that mall. I work 3 minutes away (not to mention live 10 minutes from there) so I am there at least once a week for lunch or window shopping.

I love those LL Bean bags too, but I have never purchased one. The big ones are so big. I can't imagine carrying around full of stuff. Glad you are finally getting something you have wanted for so long.

stefanie, you lucky girl who gets to go to the pool with items for one. this bag will full in no time, diapers, wipes, 4 towels, treats, goggles, ohhh the madness of the pool bag.

Those bags are great and I love the idea of filling one with games as a wedding gift. I love to give games as wedding presents because I know for us it is near the bottom of the list of things we need to buy...yet they are oh so fun to have.

I have one of their big totes (Christmas gift from my mom-in-law) and LOVE it! It's my pool bag, too (you are right, the pool bag is "madness!"), and it really is the best pool bag in all the land. Congrats on your new purchase! Enjoy!

I have always been envious of those bags too. I'm glad after all these years you finally got one.

That is so funny! I have also been wanting one of those bags for years and years. A pool bag seems the perfect use for it... and I think it's for the best that you waited, they are so much cuter now than they used to be!
