Great Stuff ...
now that's an understatement

Today I discovered a new part of my wonderful new home. It is 22 miles north and in a town called Frederick. Jeff had the day off and so we went up to the historic part of town and I was in heaven.

Recently a store called "Great Stuff by Paul" was in Southern Living. My friend Emily who grew up had told me about it and it was fine time I checked it out. Having Jeff with me made a fine distraction for the little girls.

Here is just a sampling of the 5 warehouse visit.
Colored Sap Buckets
gagilion's of water buckets
if Jeff would not have been with me I would have bought the pink iron rack and then justified it when I got home. These were incredible and will have to someday be mine

I resisted the pink feather tree. The paper bunny containers were delicate and yummy for only $7.00 for 12. I also resisted. Having Jeff with me saves him so much money.

My only purchase from Paul's was the old thread spools from Gettysburg and a few wooden letters, Sally Jane's initials and the number 8, for a little girl I know getting baptized. my total was about $10.00
I think the wooden spools will be great ribbon storage.

Jeff was nice enough to let me run into a second hand shop. In less than 6 minutes I came out with spending another $6.00. Oh my check out my finds.
This was a total steal at $.75 ... yes that is seventy five cents!
Pink Burberry! you can buy their most recent hat here for $170.
This was crying to me, "Please buy me and monogram me!"
I think I will give it to my ultra preppy friend who loves green and loves monograms.

These are perfect for Stacy's Hanger idea. Only $.50 for two.I came so close to buying these and putting them on my blog for the first person who has a size 7 foot. They were so awesome. Pink Leather shoes with green piping. They were in mint condition. I am kicking myself for not doing it now!

Oh it was a good day.
and I am hoping for a happy ending!

My sister loves antiquing and this place looks AWESOME! I think I'm going to have to take her there. Where are you finding all of your great thrift stores? My sis and I just went to one in Vienna that was completely horrible. Share your secrets please!!

Kristi, I used to have a purse just like that years ago. I can't remember what the cover was, but I think it came with other covers. Is it made by Papplago or something like that? I love the hanger idea. I think I have some of those hangers in the basement.

Oh, that is SO NOT FAIR!!! I don't think there is anywhere other than the once a month flea market to get cool stuff like that. I am so jealous! Fun pink Burberry hat. I would have to agree, though, taking our husbands with us does save THEM tons of money!!!

What great stores!!! I don't have good enough second hand stores, seriously. I have to wait for garage sale season to find my best finds. The spools, the burberry hat (that'll make you look like a rich doctor's wife), the wooden letters. Great finds.

You always seem to have the coolest antique stores! I LOVE the wooden spools! So fantastic! Love your note 'someday, these will be mine!' - ha!

It's soooo vital that little ones are (ahem) 'out of the way' while you have a good rummage in places like this! God bless Jeff! Hurrah for spouses like this! (apart from the 'spouse being around = less expenditure'...that's a bad equation. LOL)

My fave's the pile of old watering cans. Very Peter Rabbit!

Holy cow, you find the best stuff! Those buckets were killing me. I have an idea for your iron rack, if you need justification! In our first house, I hung one of those above my kitchen window (on the inside) and bunched fabric in the bottom of it and put some pottery dishes in the basket part. It was the cutest window treatment. That probably sounds awful written out, but I'll see if I can find a picture. But, I'm thinking it could be so cute in one of your girls' rooms with picture books or something in the basket part. Go back and get that pink one! :)

How envious am I? I love the colored buckets but even better were what looked to be wooden bowls on your smugmug site. I have been looking for something like that forever - now I know where to plan my next trip to. I also love the letters - I love letters, don't they make you happy?

You find the greatest things. I remember those great purses from back when we were in 7th grade, I loved them so much. Your preppy friend will be in heaven.

My parents used to live in Ellicott City, have you been there yet? It's cute.

The best is your comment -saves HIM so much $ when he's with me!hahaha
My hubs would rather have a root canal than go browsing or shopping -with anyone, anywhere! So in a way, that's good for me;)

You are a wonder at thrifting. I dream of going with you and finding great steals like you do! My grandma used to have a purse exactly like that -- it is screaming out to be monogrammed. What fun!

I love those wire baskets. You seriously need to go back and get that pink one and hang it in your girls room under a window or by a bed and put books in it. My friend did that and it is to-die-cute!!!! I always wondered where stores like that were that they show in magazines. They sure aren't here in AZ!!!
