It's the thought that counts?
.... right

To follow along with Jill's awesome idea to just send good mail to someone for no other reason than it is Wednesday, I did just that.

I was going through the new Williams Sonoma Catalog today and saw the cutest thing that was titled the same name as someones blog and I thought, "Oh I should send that to her" then, I turned the page and thought "oh my friend would love this", and "oh this is so Michelle", "I wonder if my sister-in-law has this" I was now seriously $625 in the hole from what I could send everyone and how could i do this considering my sister in laws birthday gift is sitting her saying, send me, send me (it is a week late)

So I came up with the idea of

"It's the thought that counts, gift giving"

I cut out each item that I wanted to send them, wrapped in cute paper and ribbon to match the cute stationery Jill gave me for my birthday and then wrote them a letter, telling them why I wanted to buy this for them.

So I hope the theory holds true that it is the thought that counts.
... and my husband thinks I don't know how to save money, HA! I just save us $625 today!

You're mad, Kristi! That's funny!

I sent a friend a sample of foundation from a magazine once, when I had no money and it was her birthday. LOL. Well, it's better than nothing, isn't it?! I'd have been glad of it anyway...

Love that wrapping. I don't think I could just 'give away' gorgeous ribbon like you do with your wrapping. I'd be a bit over-precious of it and just give people little snippy bits of it. You're v.generous with that ribbon.

Very cute, Kristi. I definitely think its the thought that counts, so long as it isn't my birthday or something :) Just kidding.

Kristi - I love this gesture, thinking of someone, as we all do everyday, but then going through the step to actually write them a note and let them know... so beautiful.
My daughter gave my brother-in-law a magazine pic of the truck she wanted to buy him for his b-day this year - he loved it!

This is an absolutely brilliant idea! There's no way we can afford to buy and send all the things we see that remind us of someone, but it's truly thoughtful to let them know you wish you could and that you were thinking of them. I love it!!

That really is a cute idea. Oh if we could buy all the things we want to give people!

Don't you just love the cute things Williams Sonoma has in the spring? Love it.

Kristi, you are too cute! I love this idea, especially because there are lots of things I wish I could give to people but I just couldn't possibly afford to do it all. Thanks for a great idea!

You are so sweet Kristi! I love your big heart. We could all be a little more like Kristi Brooke, it IS the thought that counts. You will make someone's day for sure! Love it all, the ribbon, the paper and the card!

I'm totally buying into this idea. Finally a way to give people a glimpse of what you'd like to buy if only money wasn't an issue. My heart is huge, its only the pocketbook that is too small. I'd say you really know how to save money and you still get the credit of a good gift!
