Green Bug in your ear!
(get it, green bug on an ear of corn)

I thought I would throw this out there while I am making my green list for St. Patricks Day. If you want to do a green lunch for your kids (the holiday is on Saturday, so plan ahead to do it the Friday before) start looking now for green things at the store . Here is last years lunch to give you some ideas.
  • Make sure you have green food coloring to dye all the toilet water green and any eggs or pancakes. Ask your grocery baker if they will be making green loaves of bread that you could make sandwiches, most will do it if you ask.

  • Plan on turning the furniture upside down so when they wake up it looks like the leprechaun has been there.

  • get a box to set a trap to catch the leprechaun. we have never caught him but he always leave chocolate gold coins in the closed trap (our trap consists of a box being held up by a stick, nothing fancy)
  • a box of Lucky Charms for breakfast
  • lemon jello for dinner, cut in squares for a pot of gold
  • corned beef and cabbage (i wouldn't buy this this week obviously)
  • get some Hershey kisses, green ribbon or string and some green tulle at the fabric store and i will post the Leprechaun Kisses idea this week for you to do for neighbors or visiting teachers.
  • make green pillowcases for their beds check out Mindy's
That is just a start but be thinking of what fun thinks you can do this month. Here is a link to my March archives for others I may have forgot.
Here are our last year photos that might give you some more ideas.

and as always if you have any other fun ideas please share them, this will give us two weeks to get ready for the fun day.

Yesterday was such an AMAZING day with so many life lessons, I dont' even know where to begin writing. Because I know myself and will get overwhelmed, I had to post something for the day or i know I will got 2 weeks without posting because I won't want to miss one thing from the day. So I may back post on our Sunday. But to sum it up I wonder why we are so lucky to be able to learn all these lessons right now in our life.... i am full of emotion for sure.

Thanks for giving us 12 days notice to process these great ideas. I haven't been very good about doing fun things like you do, so maybe now I will. Thanks!

Can't wait to read your Sunday life lessons post.

Cute ideas. I will have to try some. Cristin has had some great ideas and links on her blog recently. Including some cute Easter Chair Backs that are personalized with the kids' names that she got at PBK.

My daughter has to make a leprechaun trap for kindergarten. She wants me to help her make a cold credit card (as opposed to gold coins)to put in her box to trap him. Thanks for all the fun ideas!

Kelly does the leprechaun trap - I'm hoping she blogs about it and posts pictures from past St. Patrick's traps. I love the way you celebrate everything in a big way.

I gotta try the Leprechaun trap with my little boy. We have a couple of books about Leprechauns, and the way they lurk and hide, so he'll get a kick out of this.

The green toilet water cracks me up.

I have never ever celebrated St. Patrick's Day. I remember you educating me about when we lived in the dorms, and telling me about the rubber snakes in the grass! Green toilet water, pretty funny.
