The Mystery Tree

I just wanted to give an update on my recent tree search. I have had so many different answers and since I don't know the real answer I am in a little pinch. I have gone to the tree owners home and knocked on their door to find out, but have not found them home yet. My quest continues.

But I did take a photo of it a few days later and it has yellow fuzzies all over it now. Kind of fun to watch this tree change.

I will keep ya'll posted.

I have no idea what kind of tree that is, but I'm officially intrigued.

What a intersting tree. I don't think I have ever seen anything quite like it. I wonder if it could be in the "willow" family?

Is it a "weeping forsythia" ?

I was going to post the other day and say forsythia, and now that you say it has yellow flowers on it, I am almost positive that is what it is. But I also see that Stacy S beat me to the punch there! :)

I think I have seen a few trees like this in Louisville (I have been looking ever since your post). Sorry, I have no idea what it is-but I look forward to hearing what the answer is.

I knew it would come in handy (possibly) to have a dad that works in a nursery. So I cheated and asked him and he said that based on what he could see in the photo and if fuzzies are really yellow, it could be a weeping pussy willow. Here's a website that might help.

I think it's a weeping pussy willow too. How funny that you've been rapping on the door of the house! Good for you. I hope you find them in soon. I wonder what they'd think of us all analysing their little tree!
