Self Portrait Tuesday

Challenge Mirror, Mirror on the wall

So the mirror I chose was the rear view mirror in the passenger side of my car. I spend more time in the passenger side of my car then I do the drivers side. I don't have to drive very much, for me everything is so close. The times that I spend most in the car are when we are adventuring in our new city. Jeff usually does the driving so that is why I am in the passenger side.
The photo is of me on the George Washington Parkway with the Potomac River in view.

I have been told recently that I dive right into any city I live in. Although, this is nothing you would physically notice about me, I think this photo which could be taken on any Saturday or Sunday of any week reflects this part of my personality.

The three cities I have lived in since being married, New Orleans, Nashville and D.C are ones I would have never chosen on my own. I have LOVED every single one. I have tried to make the best out of each new situation.

You can't see this from the photo but I love and will always think that any place I live is the greatest place to live.

note to self - when choosing to write on my foot with magic marker find one that washes off easily. the word best is still on my foot as clear as it was last Tuesday.

Fabulous shot! I love it. And too funny about the marker. If you going to have a tatoo...at least it's pink right? You do dive into your cities. I miss being able to tag along!

I have no idea what I'm going to do for my mirror, mirror picture but had thought about the rearview mirror in my car...dang it! Of course, I had no reason to write about that so I am still undecided. Your reason is a great one and the photo is cool and the writing is as well. Good job!

I love your photo. I love that you "dive in" to explore your surroundings... kids in tow. If we wait for the *perfect* opportunities, we'll be sitting around for a long time. I love D.C. & truly enjoy reading about your escapades there...

Love the photo, great job! You definitely set a great example for loving life where ever!

Funny about the marker, I'm laughing with you, right?

What a creative post! I love it. Good thing you like pink and you chose a nice word, it sounds like it might be there awhile.

I love your pic! I also love that you dive in to your cities. I did that when I moved here...for about two weeks! I know I say this all of the time, but in the 9 months or so that you've lived in DC you've experienced so much more than I have in the 5 years I've been here. I'm very envious.

Thanks for sharing about the marker. I got a good laugh out of that one!

Love the picture. I considered doing a car mirror shot, seeinghow that is where I spend most of my days running to and fro. I like your thoughts on how you have lived in different places, learned what the palce and to offer and them made it your home. Thanks for sharing.

OOPS! Okay I need to proof read before I publish!!

It shuld have said I like your thoughts on how you have lived in different places, learned what the place had to offer, loved it, and then made it your home.

That is a great shot and such a perfect location. I haven't figured out mine just yet. I would have to agree you are great at "diving" into the cities you live in. Good for you! It makes us all want to live in the places you have been. (well except I was lucky to experience NOLA too.)

I am totally laughing about the marker. A permanent remembrance to not forget Tuesday challenges?

Great picture! I love that you become one with your surroundings, that you embrace your oppourtunities.

I also love that you still have marker on your foot. That is definitely something I would have done. :)

Love your photo - and the reason behind it. Eventhough you are in the passenger side of the car - I would venture to think that you live your life in the drivers seat. Your creative ideas, your inspiration, your love for famiy and friends make you a leader (driver)in many ways.
Thanks for sharing today! (I am so laughing at the marker on your foot tattoo! Good thing it isn't summer season!)

I love your picture, and what you said. I am laughing about the word "best" still being visible in vivid pink on your foot. So funny!

I love how you chose to use the mirror in your car and your reason behind it. I am shocked to hear that you don't drive very often, jealous of that.

What an awesome picture!!
I loved your post.

I also considered doing a car photo, but I love your perspective from the passenger's seat. It is fantastic that you don't have to drive around much -- seriously a blessing!

I really admire the way you jump in and explore and make friends with your city. Very inspiring.

"hey harry, it looks like I am running at an incredible rate!"

I love it. My first thought was to do the rearview mirror, but I didn't have much to say about that.

You really do jump in with both feet. I love that about you, your enthusiasm. You're inspiring me to enjoy Paris rather than dread it. And hey, I'll have 8 weeks with no driving!

such a clever picture Kristi! and so funny that your foot still says best! you are definitely a motivation to enjoy more the place I live- it just doesn't seem as interesting as DC!

Great idea for your mirror picture. Love it. You definitely make the most of where you are living. I love reading about the places you visit. I have only been to DC once and loved it.

You and I are alike in that I love to make the best of any place I live. There is always good in every city and you just have to find it. Some places it is easier than others. I think it is really all about having a good attitude!

I am cracking up that you still have marker on your foot. That is so funny. I hope it comes off soon!

Clever picture. :)

So funny that the word is still on your foot. At least it is not sandal wearing time yet in D.C.

Love the mirror picture.

I love that you seem to embrace all of the opportunities that have come your way.

Love the Clara wax museum. Tell you daughter congrats!

You now have a couple of photos I'm planning on copying the idea on. I'm taking a picture like this on our next family vacation. I'm taking a shadow family picture the next time we go to a beach. This Saturday I'm going to try and take a baptism font reflection picture.

I wouldn't be surprised if cities aren't the only thing you dive right into.

Loved your thoughts!

That is very evident and admirable about you, Kristi, I think it says a lot about the kind of person you are (a seize the day kind).
