bird hat

running in the door from a great day walking down the George Washington Parkway to old town Alexandria and running out the door. I just had to post one photo from a beautiful spring day here. Sally Jane got to wear a bird for a hat. She stood perfectly still with the bird man put it on her head.

the rest of the day...

Oh my! I thought this was a creative hat you made from the first photo - like some strange Eastern tradition - bird hat day!Seriously! I am whacked!
How funny to realize in the next photo that it was an actual BIRD! HA! That is so hilarious! She is darling - even with a bird upon her head!

Ditto. I thought you'd made a papier-mache hat for SJ!

Did your girls go out wearing pink ballet tutus? Hilarious!

Love balloon shapes too. I spy some in the background!

I'm impressed that SJ kept so still with the bird. I had a rogue pigeon land on my head in Trafalgar Square and it really dug its mangy claws in my scalp!

Birds freak me out, I always think they are going to poop on me. What a fun day! I looked at the other pictures and I love Caroline's hair short, she looks darling!

Birds, ice cream ,pink tutus, football, and daddy--Oh my! What a fun looking day for the Cutler Clan.
The girls are adorable in the cute monogrammed shirts and tutus and bare feet. The Crocs are hilarious with the fancy duds!

I Can't believe SJ let that bird be on her head! Evie won't wear dressups! Great day! Great pics! Don't you LOVE this weather???

Love the pictures, and it sure looks as though you had a great day. Birds on hands and heads -- oh my!!! The girls were mighty brave if you ask me. the ice cream looked delicious. So glad that you posted the pictures so quickly.

I can't believe she didn't wig out having that huge bird on her head. That's crazy.

I looked at all your pictures, it looks like a fun day. I think you could make a gallery just on the ice cream cones you guys have had all over the country.

The girls look darling in their tutus and monogrammed shirts.

Looks like a very fun Saturday!

Pete's parents used to live near old town, and we loved to visit the Old Torpedo Factory (art vendors) and eat at Gatsby's Tavern...a must if you haven't eaten there already!

Hilarious hat...such a great pic!

i didn't even think about the poop factor.

those tutu's are actually from gymboree last year. the best thing i ever spent my gymbucks on, i love them. they have silk shorts connected to them. for those of you who have an outlet, they will be in the outlet stores in the summer.

melanie thanks for the hair compliment. not too bad for my first time using scissors. i have even trimmed it a few times since the first cut.

The ice cream shop on King Street down by the marina also has the most amazing coconut ice cream! One great spring day my roommate and I skipped work and spent a glorious day wondering around Alexandria. One of my favorite days of all time! Looks like you had a great day, too!

I'm laughing, because I, too, thought you had created an amazing bird hat like they had in the early 1900's with real feathers and things! And, I thought oh my goodness, Kristi is a milliner, too! :)

She looks adorable hat or bird.

WHat a cute picture! My kids would go crazy for that.

I love the idea of having books being good journals. I am a huge book collector for my kids. My husband gets a little frustrated with me because we have run out of book shelves for all of the kids books. I will have to remember to do a little journal in them. Grea idea!!
