darn! I wish I would not have found
these at the store. Like I could resist a banana taffy!
If I was in
Massachusetts or Wisconsin I would take a day trip to the
Necco plant.Check out if there are any food plants or manufacturing companies in your town that give tours. They are so fun for kids and adults to visit.
these by the way, also made by
Necco, are some of the cutest candy around. Pink and yellow swirl. After Caroline was born I put two boxes of these coming out of a
terra cotta pot for the nurses on the maternity ward. There was a
wholesale candy company in Tennessee where I could get these for $3.00 a box.

You are just so thoughtful. I mean seriously, such a cute treat for the nurses on the maternity ward! You were probably their favorite patient...ever! I love that you are so on top of things to think about that in advance. Love the idea.
I would happily give you all of my banana taffy! Super fun idea for the nurses though!
Such a cute blog, love your shabby chic-ness. Love Necco wafers, one of my faves.
You are such an inspiration! thanks for sharing all of your wonderful ideas!
What I would do to find those "vintage" banana squares. I haven't seen those in years. They are my FAVORITE. Fun to visit a candy factory, I don't think we have any thing here. But, a few hours north is the Blue Bell ice cream factory. Yum!
I LOVE banana taffy!
We live very close to the Jelly Belly factory. It is awesome!! They have famous paintings made out of Jelly Belly's, you can buy Jelly Bean shaped pb and J's or pizza and you can try all of the new flavors. The kids love seeing how the stuff is made..... We have that, and Ghiradelli Chocolate.
My favorite show is the one that shows how all the food is made.. can't remember the names.... Those taffy's remind me of going to the pool in the summer and spending my quarters at the Circle K next door.... those were the days...
We live fairly close to the Swizzles factory. They make the Love Hearts sweets. I'll look into tours there now you've said that.
I booked my kids tours at he Dr Pepper Bottling company and a bread factory a few weeks ago. Got to get reservations for the great places to go this summer before the day cares take up all the good spots!
We also have a yummy ice cream factory tour where you get free ice cream at the end! Yippee!
no cow tails? dude, just give me the word, I will hook you up.
One lucky gal! Love how you photograph your lovelies from the tree!
Mail holder is exactly what I was thinking that Value Village treasure would be good for!
Well, it's official: you are the queen of old-fashioned candy. I can't stand banana taffy or Neccos! But to each her own...
