due to our Nor'easter here, Caroline got to wear her newly thrifted Rain jacket to church today

My chaotic day was all worth it when teaching the primary children today about Resurrection.

one girl said,

"Are we going to be rich in Heaven?"

before I could answer the boy next to her said,

"We don't have to be rich, because everything there is priceless"

Well, there you go!Short & sweet & one you won't soon forget! As the 'teacher' we are the one who is taught sometimes, huh. And when
it's the pure, innocent answer of a child -THAT'S Priceless! I love that!Did you get teary or just a big smile!?

When I was waiting at the gate for my 2 nieces to board their plane going home to SLC, I commented that they had souvenirs in the suitcase & some in the gift bag carry on. The younger one -9 -said, "I have the best souvenir, my memories!"
Aaaaahh!Love kids! -Janae

That's so sweet. I love it when one child answers another child with words like that.

A few weeks ago when I was helping in Whitney's class some of the boys were in a group "reading" some picture books about all different things. They were being kind of loud and I didn't want them to get in trouble so I said, "You guys need to be quieter, the other kids are trying to learn" and then one of the boys said, "We're learning more than you think!"

It is a treasure to have such things come from these children.
The teachings of the gospel ARE making a difference in their lives.
YEAH!!

Thanks for sharing.

I opened your blog this morning to see the most priceless little face and, of course, teared up. Then I read the post and cried openly. I must be your mother!

So glad you shared this sweet question and answer. I started thinking of the ways I would answer this question and can't think of a more simple perfect way to do so.

Caroline looks so cute. That little jacket's just perfect for showery days!

I love that your primary children obviously feel at ease enough to 'discuss' things amongst themselves. I think children should be able to pipe up as and when they feel like it in these kinds of situations.

What IS it with kids contemplating being rich?? AK put it on her wish didn't she? (tch! said the woman about to blow a virtual $100 in her SPT and LOVING the thought of it!!! *blush*)

Your Nor'Easter must be so bad--it was sooooo cold in Florida this morning (for mid April) I hope you are keeping a log of all your sweet experiences as you serve in this capacity. They will become priceless gems!

I just love children. Sometimes I think they are way more inciteful than adults. I am so going to share that story with my friends.

THANKS!!!

Oh, so sweet! I love it when a child gives a better answer than I could have. That's the kind of moment that keeps you going when the going gets tough!
