Good Mail Give Away!

the queen of good mail (that would be Jill) is giving everyone who reads this a chance to win a set of her good mail labels. She now has her own store that you can shop at 24 hours a day! These great labels announce the good mail right on the envelope! How perfect to put these on your Christmas cards this year!

So here is how you enter:

This year i have promised myself that I would not let the year end without writing a letter to this one person who really helped me change my life. Yes, "helped me change my life" they didn't change it for me but gave me a huge help in getting me to do it" I owe this person a long handwritten letter. I can't believe it is almost December and I have not done it yet. I will not let the week go by without doing it. So...
Who is one person that you owe some good mail and why? Jill will pick the winner next Monday.

Thanks Jill for being so awesome in teaching us all the ways of Good Mail.

Well...this is the honest response (and not just because it is your blog)...but, I owe YOU some good mail for 2 reasons: 1. you sent me some nice stationery back in May for my b-day and I haven't sent you anything in months and 2. to say thank you for all your efforts in organizing Pink Christmas....so, your Good Mail package actually went to the post office today! Taadaa!

oh geez. I have so many GoodMail ideas floating in my head that I could send one package every day for a long time and still have more to send-- and that is so great! I have been working on a couple of things today in fact, along with some sitting on my desk to be mailed this week.

I have been playing catch up on sending birthday good mail and I love to do it. I love to think of the person smiling when they see the mail waiting for them.

YAY for Jill and her vision. Now an etsy store to boot? SO GOOD!

We have some friends who really did a ton when we lost our son in May. We sent them a nice thank you with a photo of Hollis, our son, but I keep trying to think of what thing more I could do for them. I just can't think of anything that could possibly sum up how I feel about them and what they did for us. The are definately deserving of some good mail though.

I need to send some good mail to my Aunt. She lives alone and is mentally ill. She has no immediate family. I have been wanting to start sending her things regularly like we would a Grandma. I need to make it happen.

My aunt Carla(Lisa Buchanan's mom) was a life saver for me when I was out of high school and drifting to find my place in the world. I have thought of the letter about a million times and I keep putting it off for some reason. I think it is hard sometimes to bundle up all of the really truly special feelings onto paper and feel that they are giving them justice. I too will be making the pledge to have the letter off to her by the end of the year.
She too changed my life by giving me the extra tools I needed, but had to use myself.

I JUST sent my good mail out to a good friend who lives really close to me. I have been wanting to do something and I finally found a perfect gift and wrote a letter to her. It does feel so good to send things out. She loved the card and package. She told me she tried to call several time the first night she got it but couldn't cause she would start crying every time!

Yea, for Jill for starting a business doing all the fun things she does.

Wow I just read your blog and this seems like a great idea. I think we rely too much on email etc. today and forget that tangible mail is sooooo much better for personal messages.

I would really like to send a note each month to someone who has done something (big or small) for me. A college professor, a young women's leader, the lady in my office who listens to me vent. Such a great challenge! Who doesn't love good mail?

On the top of my list is someone I visit taught when I was first married. She kept telling me I was a strength to her for being there for her through some things but really, I learned so much from her. She helped me gain more confidence in myself and even helped me sew our Christmas stockings - so when I get them out each year, I always contemplate on the place she has in my heart but haven't really ever expressed it to her. So, she's definitely on the top of my list!

I know exactly who I need to send Good Mail to...Thank you for introducing me to Good Mail.
Several weeks ago, a man gave an incredible talk at church...it was on gratitude. The simplicity and sincerity of his presentation change my entire perspective. I think about what he said several times per day. I am sure he does not think he said anything profound or life-changing, yet he did and I need to tell him.
I have meant to drop him a Thank You note ever since..... It goes in the mail tomorrow morning! Good Mail....On The Way!

PS- The Good Mail Concept is what originally brought me to your blog months and months ago. Thank you, Jill for introducing Good Mail!!!!!

The person I would love to write a note to because they changed my life is my best friend Erin. She came from a dysfunctional background that made my middle class home seem like heaven yet she looked to the future and but herself through school getting a Masters in Social Work while rasing a family. Unfortunately she will never receive my good mail, she died in 2004. But again she has reminded me to not let the opportunity pass to let someone know they are special and thought of!

My first grade teacher was Miss Sanders. She was young beutiful and perfect. The year I was her student was her last because she got married.

She moved out of town but never failed to stop in and see me when she would come back for a visit.

I'll never forget seeing her at the front door of my apartment at BYU my first day at college...smiling with a plate of cookies.

It is because of her that I became a teacher. It is because of her that I made sure that my students knew I loved them....even when they weren't my students anymore.

What a great idea for Jill to start a store of her personalized products. Good luck Jill!

I've actually been thinking outside my box here about the potential of good mail. I have hemed and hawed in the past about having any outreach with relatives we once had a good relationship with and now have almost none due to some serious drama. But thinking of the ways I've been able to touch people through the mail in past years (in college, etc when I was a mail machine) I've decided I want to make a thoughtful guesture through the mail. This way I can reach out in a way that's nonthreatening to any of us. A simple way to bridge the barrier and even an exciting prospect. Thanks for the inspiration.

I totally owe you some good mail. I got the stroller last weekend- your push was just what I needed to change my sights from a new one to a used one and make it happen. And I did just that :)

LOVE good mail- Jill has changed the way I express gratitude.

I think Jill and her Good Mail ideas are amazing! I love reading and seeing pics of everyone's Good Mail. I keep wanting to join the group, but I am not a crafty person at all, so I am a little intimidated.

I do, however, owe many Good Mail Thank Yous. When I was in CA helping take care of my dad, there were several women in my mom's ward who came to help me clean her house top to bottom. (They had been evacuated for the So Cal fires and are still out of their house because of my dad's health.) Also, while I was in CA, my amazing friends cleaned MY house top to bottom, hung my Christmas lights and bought me a Christmas mat. They also took turns having my sweet little boy over for playdates. So, as you can see I owe much Good Mail!

Whew!

Gosh, I was only just saying to my Bible study cell group the other day that I feel so blessed to have lived a life so bereft of real problems, so far, so I can't think of many watershed moments where I've had to turn my life around.

I think of the time my parents divorced. I carried a lot of hurt around for a long time after that, but meeting my husband has really picked me up out of that mire. I need to give good mail to my husband for that - but I hardly need labels for someone living in the same house! *slaps forehead*

One thing I intend to do this year, is drop Thank You notes into all the doors of the houses that decorate their exteriors with fabulous Christmas lights. Since Erin was little, we've always toured the streets with her and she's marvelled at it all. I'm thankful to those ppl for the effort they put into their display - because they can't even SEE them THEMSELVES when they're inside their own house! Hahaha. It's almost like it's done for the benefit of everyone else.

Hurrah to Jill going on Etsy. I love more excuses to peruse Etsy!

I have to just add that I don't envy Jill the task of choosing someone here. The responses are all fantastic.

During Thanksgiving I send out Thank you notes to all kind of people who influence my life for the good. The one person that I meant to send something to, but didn't ever seem to get the time to do was my husband. He is the most amazing man in the world and I don't tell him nearly enough how much he does for me and how much I appreciate it. He deserve good mail more than anyone I know!

OOoo. Lovely!
The nice thing about GoodMail is that you can spent time creating it, mulling over nice words to put into it. The person I owe good mail to is someone who wouldn't stand for the time of crafting of words; he needed to get on the phone and just express himself!

When I got divorced, since my family wouldn't actually talk about it, I had to let everyone know this happened, in my CHristmas card that year. One of those things you just couldn't really get around it. I got a number of messages from people months later who said they couldn't think of anything to say, so just didn't. One aunt called during the holidays and went on and on about how stunned she was; just speechless! So SAD! I spent an hour consoling *her*. She glossed over how I was feeling, then went back to being just stunned in grief. "Gee thanks for the lift, there", I thought. "What about how sad I am?" My old h.s. physics teacher (it's been ... 25 yrs), though, called, immediately, to say he was saddened, and to check on how *I* was doing. We had a nice long chat, and I ended up visiting him the next summer w/my new beau.

A year passed, and when my lease was up, I ended up moving in with my guy. I sent out an email to let people know my new address, since "I've moved" announcements via postal mail might take a while for me to get out. I got another call, immediately, from my teacher, insisting to know that the move was because everything was okay, and not because I was in some kind of horrible bind. He couldn't wait, and just needed to know. He clucked, quite pleased to hear my move was because of happy events, and that my guy and I were (and are) still together.

Someone who refuses to wait for the niceties of delivered postal mail, to make sure, right that second!, that you are okay, certainly deserves GoodMail...

;)

Congrats to Jill on selling her great good mail stuff! I would have to say the person I need to send good mail too would be my new sister-in-law, who changed my brother's life forever. Good Luck and great contest!

I have some good mail I have been meaning to send for about a year now (!). I want to send a card to the girl who gave me a baby gift at my shower that is now Eva's special, very very holey and shabby, blankie. I've been meaning to do it, but I want to include a picture and just haven't gotten it together. Yesterday Eva asked me who gave her the blankie, and that was the final push. I'm going to do it!
