back to the city

With our long Saturday runs preparing for the marathon the past 6 months our Saturdays' have been pretty full of each of us taking time to run. On of us usually left by 5:30 or 6:00 am and then the next one would go. Then we spent the rest of the day limping around from the pain. So some may have noticed we didn't do much in the city this summer. It felt good to go back downtown again today.
I took some photos of our good friends family for their Christmas card trying to recreate the one we did last year. It was so fun. It felt good to be back down there. It was freezing and I was thrilled to pull out my fifty cent garage sale find, orange scarf and hat.
We then went to visit a new family that moved to our ward and that was a pretty awesome experience for me.

My tip of the day is all about gift cards.
Some friends and I went in a baby shower gift for a friend. We all went in on getting her a gift card from Target. As I got ready to buy the one $100 gift card, I thought why not buy 10 of them at $10 each and do something cute with it. Target may not appreciate my gift as they are now out 9 more cards, but they are just too cute to buy only one. I taped them to chopsticks and then put them in a canning jar. there is no minimum to the cards so just think how cute you do a birthday gift or Christmas gift. Sorry, Target don't get mad if you soon get low on gift cards at $1.00 each...

Such a cute idea about the gift cards. I have started buying all Cassidy's friends gigt cards because little 9 year old boys and girls are all so different in their wants these days. THEY LOVE GIFT CARDS!!! They think they are so "old" when they get their very own credit card! You always have the ideas. When are you going to write a book????

You are so stinkin creative- I can't believe it!!! I just bought a target gift card 2 nights ago and the thought to make it a cute presentation never even crossed my mind. Even sadder is that if it did cross my mind I wouldn't be able to come up with anything creative. I'm so glad there are minds like your in this world.

Oh my that is a great idea! At an office I worked at they did something similar for someone and taped them all over the outside of a box- like it was the wrapping and the gift. It wasn't near as cute as this!
