Last Sunday

As I am getting ready to shower and fly out the door to our ward for the last time, I have a note to myself with two things on it,
  1. don't wear mascara
  2. bring lots of Kleenex
total range of emotions today as we finish out our year service calling down in the city. My bishop encouraged me to write down all that I have learned and areas of my life where I have seen myself and family grow. It seems like such a daunting task and I have no idea how to organize my thoughts..... so I am soliciting help.
Ask me a question - any question about our Sunday's, what we have learned, what we would change, wouldn't change - etc. Any ideas how i should organize my thoughts - I hope that it may give me an outline to type up or thoughts in the next few days.
After church today look forward to gathering with some friends for lunch. We will then come home and I will race back to the Stake Center for a meeting for my new calling that I got last week..... exciting stuff.

I had to give a huge shout out thanks to Jill for letting me use her husbands new primary drawings as we are redoing the primary board this morning. I can't to see how it turns out. don't you just love them?

Good morning, Kristi. I hope you have a wonderful Sunday, tears and all. I would write down what this experience has done to shape how you look at things differently now -- how you look at yourself, your family, our church, service opportunities, Primary, etc.

I'll be thinking of you today and wishing you well on this emotional Sunday.

Do you think it will be hard to go back to a "normal" ward after all you've seen and been through downtown?

Enjoy today - soak it all in.

Here are some questions for you...

* Did you ever murmur? Was it always easy to serve downtown? If there were times of murmuring, how did you get past it?

* How has your service changed your girls, you and your husband individually but also collectively as a family.

* What is your relationship like with Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ? Has your testimony been strengthened? How? How will it effect you and the ways in which you serve moving forward?

You will always look back on this service as one of the most amazing experiences of your life! When I served in an inner city it seemed that so many of my thoughts turned to gratitude. . .

How did this experience help you to have an increase in an attitude of gratitude? How did it change your perspective on what it really important? And, Did it change any stereotypical views you had before having the opportunity to serve among such a diverse group of people?

Hope you have a wonderful day!

I am sad that your year is over already. It seemed to go so quickly. I am disappointed. You were given a gift to have been able to have all of those amazing experiences, and then you passed that gift along to all of us by faithfully sharing your experiences downtown. Thank you for that.
I wish you well!

What was the most important thing you learned personally from a person in your ward? What do you that is different about Annie Kate since this experience? Jeff? You?

Enjoy today. Enjoy the memories and tender mercies you have been given. Vow to put them all to good use and share them as much as possible.

Gosh, Kristi, it seems like you have a gold mine of information right here on your blog! Review all of your Sunday posts, where you have outlined so many of your thoughts and feelings about your year of service.

How did it affect your girls? What will you do with all of your time on Sundays now?

I've enjoyed hearing about your Sundays!

Here are my questions:
What was the most surprising thing about your experience?

What moment (if you could pick just one) will you remember the most?

I don't know how you're going to be able to stand it. I don't think I will be able to stand it. I hope this is your best Sunday yet.

Wow, I can't beleive it has been a year already! I hope you have a wonderful day with everyone and take pictures. I am excited to hear about your new calling. What was your first reaction when they called you to serve down town?

I would write about what and how you think you have been changed... and what you are going to do about it.. in the future, not serving there.. how you can continue somehow what you have learned and experienced..
hope it went well!

This calling was a lot of service and a lot of time. What act of service was the best use of your time?

wow, a full year already

(full in many ways!)

i think michelle is on to something -- review your blog.

the thoughts you have shared with us via your blog capture the spirit of your service so well.

i thought about you yesterday...

Kristi,
I would try to capture how the Lord "helped" your family serve. In what way were your burdons made light and in what ways were your needs met after you had been "stretched" as much as you could?

Hope that makes sense. I try to make sense of how the Lord pushes me harder than I think I can handle, but all the while taking care of me while He does it.

those pictures are wonderful! my question is - what was the hardest thing you had to do?

No doubt your whole family learned so much from this service (and all of us who read your blog!). Here's what I've been thinking though: What do you think they learned from you all? There were specific things that only your family could bring to that ward. How did you share your talents with them? Good luck with the transition into your ward and new calling!
