Creative Mail

I seem to be on the hunt to find the most creative good mail to send these days. The other day while getting rid of over half my children's books, I discovered a few that were missing the pages. I was looking at them thinking I can't just throw these away. So I ripped off the covers and transformed it into large postcard, large heavy post card.
I had a Happy Birthday Dr. Suess book that became the perfect Birthday card.
I was a little worried that they may get sent back to me, but I just heard word that one made it to Utah. So I am hoping the other 10 found their way too.Just think of the possibilities of old books at a thrift store that are missing half their pages. So, if you found one in your mailbox I hope it came in one piece too. You can write directly on the inside of the page and put the stamps right on the outside of the book. I weighed these at home so if you use the USPS website mark it as an envelope with a rigid object to get the right postage.
{Any other fun ideas of creative good mail ?}

I would crack up if I saw this in
my mailbox!! I LOVE it. Didn't know
the thrift store would sell junk books with missing pages...a fun
tip! p.s. a great project for kids is to have a book drive for the local childrens hospital-that's where many of our little books are!

Yours made it to me in great shape. You're seriously creative about the good mail and packaging you send! I NEVER would have thought of this.

I GOT MINE! Thanks Kristi - very cute idea. It's in perfect shape, no problem. And what is even funnier is that mine was on Richard Scary's - What do people do all day? which was my husband's favorite book as a child. It is great to smile when you get the mail!

I love this idea. My favorite good mail creative ideas are...
1.to send mail in an old record ablum cover- they are so huge & yes the post office will send it (they do in my town anyway)
2. a message in a bottle. I sent one to Lelly a couple of weeks ago. I sent a bunch two years ago when we went to Newport BEach, Ca on vacation. It's really easy just drink a bottle of water let it dry out, fill it with sand & small sea shells (I got mine from the craft store-not smelly) & your message rolled up then tied with twine. I used strapping tape to tape down the mailing label. I didn't tape the cap down or anything & it was fine.
I love reading your fun good mail ideas!

I guess I need to go directly to the post office to send creatively packaged mail. I went to the UPS store today and tried to send a package and they made me put it into a bigger standard box.

You should write a book with all of your ideas! I have a hard time even coming up with a creative title for my blog! I need help in this department :)

Actually I've seen a cute idea for the old art work in children's books...modge podge it on some wood, put the kids name on and "wal..la" you've got some great art to give away or keep.

This is soooo creative! I used to do all sorts of creative mailings when I was in college. My favorite was to write letters on pages of the j crew catalog, fold it, address it, stamp it and send it. They always seems to make it intact.

such great ideas! i mailed off several good mail packages yesterday, all kristi style. meaning, i used recycled food boxes to mail everything. my daughter went with me to the post office and puzzled asked, 'why are we sending patsy instant oatmeal?' i smiled and thought of you! thanks for all of your great ideas!

too cute! mine arrived great. E was very intrigued. E's birthgrandmother sent her one of those large plastic kids sized shovels with just a mail label on it that said "I dig you!". If I find the photo I took of it I will email it to you. yet another great idea out of that head of yours!!! $$$
